  • A scenario builders perspective.

As i see it, one of the difficulties of the German TSC scene, is the focus on making routes modern, thereby changing all the markers. And i really hope i am not causing offense, because this is only my perspective as scenario builder, and as i said in another thread, we all want something different from TSC. But the modernisation means that all the work a scenario builder has thrown into a scenario is rendered obsolete by the next version of the route. And that is probably exhausting, unless one has taken the decision to just build for the original version, which i have. My fave upgrade is fsclips Brennerbahn upgrade, because it made the route look great without breaking what i built for it.

I think the updating of routes has gone a little too far in the German scene and that´s why scenario creation is difficult. But I don´t see anyone besides Werdenfelsbahn doing updates for routes in future, since people like Amisia don´t seem to be around anymore. Also Team Lückenschluss has stopped work. I´m still a little upset that the Frankfurt - Mannheim overhaul was never released and Allgäubahn has changed so drasticly, that RSSLO could do a Version 2.0 of the route at this point. Besides that, I´m fine with everything. I have also become a critic of nonestop updating old routes, because it hurts gameplay.

That may be an issue for you personally but I rather doubt it applies universally. One only needs to watch the Dutch scene to see that ever changing routes are just not an obstacle. All freeware routes, most continue to be developed and old scenarios regularly stop working. But new scenarios continue to be built and someone like Beluxtrains keeps updating his packs over and over again. Some were first released in 2015 and last updated a couple of months ago...
