  • From UKTS;

    Hi All,

The regressed 1980s BR Blue version of the North Wales Coast Line ( North Wales Coast – BR Blue ), created by Nick Hudson and myself is now available for download from Wotawallysbits ( https://www.wotawallysbits.co.uk/nwc-brblue ).

Nick has regressed all of the track work and infrastructure ( signalling etc. ) and I have regressed the scenery.

As you may have seen, from the route regression update thread, this regressed route started life as a regression of the DTG North Wales Coastal route but quickly became pretty much a full rebuild, nevertheless thanks must go out to the original creator(s) for giving us a base to work from and the impetus to actually get started on a regression of this line, something that Nick and I had been discussing on and off for some time.

The download pack contains a full route manual and description and please do not forget to run the small batch job as per the instructions with the download.
NB. On the host site splash page you will see 2 screenshots, clicking on each will trigger a separate file to download.....you must download and install both files before running the enclosed batch job for the route and all assets to be installed on your PC.

As mentioned in the credits in the manual we have had some patient and thorough QA testers who have helped to identify glitches and bugs that we have missed, and also some scenario writers who have enabled us to provide a number of varied scenarios with the route download.
Nick and I would be grateful for any feedback via this thread, and please do point out any errors or glitches that we may have missed, we will endeavour to fix via a patch where possible.

And finally, we hope that you enjoy driving the route as much as we have enjoyed creating/regressing it.

    Andy

  • Just another thoroughly enjoyable 64-Bit scenario that I can warmly recommend to everyone having the long list of requirements: a full 1h40 min GEML run from Norwich to London, using the Traction Depot workshop version. This does require a serious PC, and I guess may be barely playable without G-Sync monitor due to consistently low framerates. But an extremely rewarding experience.

  • Just another thoroughly enjoyable 64-Bit scenario that I can warmly recommend...

The framerates are good at the complete journey on my system, (TS settings on max) no need for an G-Sync monitor. ^^
Great scenario, i hope more is coming...

    PLEASE NOTE:

We also make no apologies for the big requirements list, this route is basically a sounding board for us to see what works, just a bit of fun.
Let your imaginations run wild :) If you do make any scenarios and would like them to feature in the route, please get in touch.
We'd also like to thank Ash Clark for stepping in at the last minute this week to assist us in preparing the route for release!

The Railways of Devon 1985 (July 1985) is a heavily rebuilt version of DTG's Riviera Line,in most areas with scenery completely redone over the course of the last 4 years. It features some stunning vistas, semaphore signalling and the level of detail that you have come to expect from our routes. We have aimed to recreate that "gritty" 1980's aura, matched up with the "Glorious Devon" feel as you head along the coast at Dawlish. We hope you enjoy this route, which has taken hundreds of hours to become a reality.
Note: For those who want a detailed article on the route, and an in depth look into it,please have a read of the manual, which goes into great detail over what went into the project, including an entire binder of notes, and the full Summer 1985 WTT for the lines between Bristol and Plymouth!
The route includes 27 scenarios, most of which are EXACT recreations of workings seen in a 2 week period (these can be found in the "Notes" in the manual) in July 1985.
This is the ultimate South Devon Summer Holiday, take a trip back in time to the nostalgic Railways of Devon - 1985!

DP Simulation have very kindly made Quick Drive routes and consists for our Railways of Devon 1985 route, there's around 120 different variations for AI services, all authentic to the period.
These will work based on what stock you have installed,so by no means do you need to own everything included. Those of you who have downloaded Darren's excellent QD's for the Liverpool to Manchester route will know what to expect.

  • Yeah, these guys and gals are excellent! I have a lot of fun with their stuff. Absolutely first class.

BTW Victory Works released their "Panier Tank Pack". Be sure to buy directly via the DTG-Store, so they'll get their fair share. https://store.dovetailgames.co…-pannier-tank-pack-add-on

And to add, I have had contact with Pete from Victory Works because the (otherwise very lovely) GWR 14XX has some unusual control for the injectors. That was deliberately because other means were not known back then. He kindly made a small fix for that so the controls are now up to "standard" with the later releases. If anyone cares, just massage me.

  • Don't care about the locos. Got all of 'em in AP Quality. ;)
But haven't seen much/anu scenarios for it on the various UK sites. So i reckon the quality is subpar. Never cared for quick drives or standard scenarios that come with routes.
If a scenario does not require 5 payware add-ons and liveries it's usually shite.

  • York-Peterborough is not a good route by any current definition. The scenery is way outdated (Kuju Kuju Kuju), the trackwork really ugly looking (Kuju Kuju Kuju) and so on and so forth...

Heute hier, Morgen hier, Übermorgen eventuell dort
