Hello Chris, I noticed one thing with v1.1: there is a slight "hissing" sound present when you apply full power right after the gear changes, then with increasing speed it disappears. It was present before, but with 1.1 it feels a bit more apparent.

So I wodner... were there any changes to the sound apart from the highRPM dav file update and horn sound volume increase? I ran a diff on the IVECO proxyxml and it seems that many or almost all IDs were changed (not sure why), but I didn't spot anything else...

So just as I feared...I didn't receive any email about this on the email address I used to buy the product. What can I do in such a case, Chris?

EDIT: So as I thought, the original download link now leads to v1.1 so all is OK. However I now know I cannot expect any further emails from ChrisTrains to be delivered to me. It would be good, Chris, if you can always post the update information here or on your website too. Many thanks.

@linusf So I just tried your 112 sounds and I have to say it's brilliant, top notch...and this time, no crackling, clicking within the sound, my hat off :)

The only thing I'd probably like to be changed is that even with panto down and main switch turned off there's the electrical hissing sound present. I prefer that when the loco is shut down it should be relatively quiet; but I understand that vR's realism does not go that far so that you could shut the loco down completely and your representation is perhaps closer to reality. But I'd still better have a chance to get a (near) silent loco before the startup is initialised.

Hello Chris, I'd like to report another bug that could potentially be fixed for v1.1: the engine start audio. When you shut down the engine and then start it again, the startup sound is played out correctly. However after playing it then there's a several second silence and only after that the usual engine idle sound takes over. Can the gap be eliminated so that the engine idle sound starts playing immediately after the engine startup sound?

@ChrisTrains Hi Chris, I just sent you a PM with a link to that file. As I state there - I do not guarantee that you'll like it, but I certainly do as it removes the clicking noise which was quite distracting and was spoiling the driving experience for me. So it's of course up to you. I also fixed the start and the end of the file to provide a smoother loop/beginning/end of the playback.

So as I wrote earlier I pretty much like the Iveco version of the sounds, perhaps also because they match the sound of RS1 I am used to in real life (all the RS1s I ever heard were Iveco engine equipped). However there was still one thing I disliked about the sound: I heard crackling when power was applied.

Perhaps you know me from the past as a bit of a "crackling hunter" :) - most of crackling and clicking is usually due to loops being incorrectly created.

However this time - unfortunately - the clicking is inside the sound itself, the offending file is "Stadler RS1 engine highRPM inside.dav". Luckily I was able to fix it by removing its middle part and replacing it with the final section of the sound. I believe that not just the crackling was removed, the sound is more subtle and more reflects reality now. But it may just be my personal feeling.

Chris, would you be interested in getting this updated file? If not, would you allow its distribution (it's based on your original file)? Would anyone be interested/does anyone else hear this crackling too?

If you want the seats to look in a different place from the outside when looking through the windows to the inside, then that's a new model.
In TS20xx, the passenger view is a different set of geometry to the stuff you can see from the outside.

Thanks a lot for your answer, Chris. Changing the passenger view will have to do for now... but would you consider adding more SB versions in the future to cover the above (or even other) combinations? ODEG seating and destination board placed under the windscreen?

So after applying the IVECO patch, the RS1's sound is more than adequate for me. I'm very happy with the product now! (The only thing I adjusted was the cab view hight; it's simply too high, I've had a chance to be in an RS1 cab just today and could clearly see it.)

The only thing that is bugging me is whether a SB_2 version can be combined with the ODEG seating. I'd like to create a repaint for a version that would require this. Would you be able to advise how to do it, Chris? Is it simple or a creation of a whole new model is needed with a lot of work involved? Thank you very much!

You change to the IVECO sound by opening each version's BIN file using RWTools (or convert via serz if you don't have it), for the DB version it is:

    \ChrisTrains\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\DMUs\Stadler RS1\Wagons\Version DB Zugbus\RS1 DB Zugbus.bin

    Search for the string:

    engine2G_MAN

    and replace it with:

    engine3G_IVECO

In some file there may be two occurences of the string (one for the coupler I believe).

    ---------------------------------------gtrans----------------------------------------------
Sie wechseln zum IVECO-Sound, indem Sie die BIN-Datei jeder Version mit RWTools öffnen (oder über serz konvertieren, wenn Sie es nicht haben), für die DB-Version ist es:

    \ChrisTrains\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\DMUs\Stadler RS1\Wagons\Version DB Zugbus\RS1 DB Zugbus.bin

    Suche nach der Zeichenfolge:

    engine2G_MAN

    und ersetzen Sie es mit:

    engine3G_IVECO

In einigen Dateien gibt es zwei Vorkommen der Zeichenfolge (eine für den Koppler glaube ich).

Anybody knows if it is possible to get the TreinPunt.nl scenarios and announcements separately? I already purchased from CT directly and don't want to buy the whole thing again just for this...

And another question - I would like to use the Seebergbahn_2 version with the passenger space arranged as in the ODEG version. Is it possible to create such a thing easily?

    Thank you!
