    two weeks ago I contacted railtraction using their online form asking several questions regarding their br218 model. No answer received. Yesterday I re-sent the questions to them. Nothing yet. Do they ever answer? Does anyone know if they plan to fix their pzb and overall if they are going to release the final version? It seems to me there hasn't been an update for quite a long time...

    Was sollte man machen, wenn man schon die neuen einheitlichen Tastaturbelegungen installiert hat? Dann überschreibt doch der fix diese und dann hat man diese fopix Tastenbelegung wieder.

    Hallo,
    einfach die einheitliche Tastaturbelegung neu installieren ist nicht unbedingt das Beste, wenn von Fopix dort auch Dinge geändert werden, die dann nicht mehr dabei wären. Wenn es das Update gibt würde ich erst mal warten, bis es ein neue Tastaturbelegung gibt, wo der Umschreibende gekuckt hat, ob dort auch andere Sachen geändert wurden.
    Da ich aber nicht genau weis, ob dort in der einzelnen Datei nur die Tastenbelegungen hinterlegt sind oder auch andere Sachen, muss man das dann abwarten, was die Experten dazu sagen.

    That's great they are working on that, but based on some posts here in this thread one can say there hasn't been a new version released for a long time. Any info on when the final version or any new version could be released? BTW railtraction really do not reply to web form queries...

    Maybe Remon just does not want to bother with people like jstange insisting to be pushy. If someone gives an answer like "it is WIP" rhey push further "But when is ist etc. Just like kiddies in the backseat. Please be patient and let him/them do their work, please.

    1. If you're talking of my emails to railtraction, I was not pushing anyone to anything. In my first message I even suggested what needs to be done to fix the keyboard control bugs (please see above in this thread) and simply asked if PZB fix is planned in the future.


    2. I believe the other PZB train types can be introduced into the model by spending no more than several hours. Additionally, per certain posts I have seen here, the latest version available is around for quite some time... PLUS..if someone is not able to fix a simple problem in the keymapper file that takes several minutes to correct and that _seriously_ impacts driving experience, I have _every_ reason to believe this is an abandoned model and will never be updated again.


    3. This software is payware, I have every right to ask if an issue will be fixed. If it is freeware, rest assured I will be silently waiting for the author to be so kind to provide an update. Period.


    Don't get me wrong, but honestly your notes on kids in the backseat are not applicable here and are perceived by me as unnecessary personal attacks.

    Well, no reaction to any of my points and another attack... all right. No I did not send a PZB fix to the dev, do you send patches to Microsoft for your OS? However I did offer to the dev to send the fixed keymapper file; no answer. I cannot send a file via a web form...


    But anyway, this is it for me, life is too short to spend it in disputes about nothing. I simply asked the developer if they planned to finish the PZB implementation and when it would be. No answer; then I asked the same here. If you think this is unacceptable to do as a customer for a product you paid for, so be it. And know what? On many occasions I've seen developers telling me that they would not fix an issue or implement a new feature because nobody asks for it or complains. And now asking is wrong... ?


    This really ends here, no offense was meant, and I sincerely hope you didn't really mean what you wrote too. I very much like the BR218 model, the main problem with the keyboard control is fixed now for me and I'll be waiting for further updates from the dev.

    I really would appreciate an update of the 218 which hopefully includes the missing PZB train modes "U" and "M". Thanks for asking and your efforts, jstange.

    the extra pzb modus have nothing to do with bugs, its not an bug its an extension on the pzb90 system and not an small extension a large extension. The pzb is created with eye on reality and this is the biggest scripting inside the addon.



    I dont think that you have to expect any updates inside the last life time of ts2013 , if needed only show stopping bugs will be patched on a product. on this moment there are no show stopping bugs available.
    We running soon inside ts2014 and we dont know what comming to us, there is no information yet. What working now can also dont working anymore on ts2014
    Example: Its simple better to dont launching large bandwith eating updates 2 times if its possible inside one time. Every year its an scary moment and we have to deal with that.
    my feelings of comming options updates can be more advanced than the community does. on some moments we have to watch out how we spend the time, and watch out wat comes. i dont gonna take the danger roads if i can drive without danger.


    If you started an small investigation you also learn that people receive inside the past complete reworks , and free upgrades on fopix3d products. So please stop about abonded projects there is no reason to believe everything on a community.


    We learned inside the time that giving information is not working. people twist the information and make it different than it is. Official information will be launched on releases only and not before because we working on an simulator created by somebody else and you understand that other people cant look behind the monitors daily from rsc. And thats not bad but this is how it work on almost every company.
    Projects are since 01-01-2013 secret and i dont provide any information before annymore. If its ready than its ready. so on release we all know now wat everbody gets.


    Also you have to understand that developers are not able to answer the large amount of questions from people( compare fopix3d with an movie star, its not always possible to say something back). if you take a look on the RSC facebook you learn that they are to bussy with questions for new trains, extensions, updates. and even questions for help on installing somebody else his work.(im understanding that people are excited and that is also not wrong but if i start on one than i need to do 1000 other relevant parts) Bug reports, information and all kind of emails are archived if i need to answer all that email what i realy want than i need an support team behind me. i dont have that so on this moment support regarding products, sales are priority. Archived info is here and will be used for information purpose.

    Soweit wie ich in dem schlechten Englisch von Fopix verstanden habe, ist die BR218 ein aufgegebenes Projekt, welches nicht weiter geupdated wird?
    Die Lok ist immer noch Version 0.875, also noch Beta, oder habe ich in meinen 2 Wochen Urlaub etwas verpasst?


    Ich verlange ja nicht, das neue Features implementiert werden, aber die bisherigen Fehler sollten doch vom Entwickler und nicht von der Community gefixt werden.
    Auch die Aussage, dass jetzt TS2014 kommt und das man jetzt nichts mehr für ein altes Produkt patched, finde ich sehr befremdlich. Die BR218 ist im Januar diesen Jahres zum Verkauf veröffentlicht worden.
    Anstatt immer neue Projekte zu starten, wäre es vielleicht mal an der Zeit die BR218 auf Version 1 zu bringen.
