Has anybody heard from AP regarding weather errors in quick drives?
-
I haven't - but he will no doubt have taken a well-deserved break over the holiday period.
-
He is very active on facebook. In fact he just made this statement: “All weather patterns can be used at night except for the ones with fog.“
I would liked to have been told of this before purchase.

It is fully described in the manual which can be downloaded before buying...

Don't think this is quite correct. There are some Overcast (fog), Rain (fog) and Snow (fog) weather types where the manual indeed states that these should not be used at night. But the separate fog weather types listed on p.14 of the manual can all be used at night, as far as I can see at least.

Nowhere in the manual does it say that you can’t have fog at night in a quick drive.
That's one for the rules lawyers. You're right, it's not mentioned in the (very brief) quick drive section. However, it is repeatedly mentioned in the other sections, so it shouldn't be a surprise...

It arguably is a bit strange. According to the manual, the "foggy" QD weather uses the "AP Fog Variable 1" weather pattern. And the AP Fog Variable 1 weather pattern is not one of these patterns where it is stated that it cannot be used at night. So if the fog indeed does not work at night in QD, the manual is indeed not clear on this front.
I did just hear back from AP regarding the 1700 issues discussed earlier - he stated that they do not recognise that issue and invited us to provide more details. I don't normally do QDs so perhaps @Kim_olesen1 you want to do so? Ideally you should use UK routes for this purpose as non-UK routes are not officially supported as far as the Time of Day files are concerned.

Ouch. Looks like RSSLO himmel.

I just read through the manual once more. Please show me the quote where it says that fog patterns does not work at night.
'Should not be used at night': Manual p. 16-17-18-19. Agree, the issue remains unclear...

"APEP Snow Heavy weather pattern now used at night in Quick Drive when ‘Cloudy Snow’ is selected after sunset"
-
That was one of the errors i reported to AP so that is good news. We are in communication about the “no fog after sunset” in QD error too.
