Irgendwann werde ich auf jeden Fall nach GB reisen (mit der Bahn versteht sich). Dort gibt es auch Tickets, mit denen man durch´s ganze Land fahren kann. Und dann gibt´s einen schönen Bahn-Städtetrip. So eine beschauliche Dampffahrt durch die schottischen Highlands als Schmankerl obendrauf klingt sehr verlockend.
Problem: Wer weiß, wann ich mich tatsächlich auch dazu durchringe, dies zu tun. Aber ich bin ja noch jung und hab hoffentlich noch etwas Zeit....

Schottland!!! Wann war ich dort? Vor vielen vielen Jahren, aber ich habe es immerhin bis zu den äußeren Hebriden und ganz in den Norden (Cape Wrath) geschafft. Es sollte klar sein, dass ich mit der Ankündigung dieser Strecke hochzufrieden bin (noch dazu eine Keith Ross Strecke!). Fahrzeit mit Scotrail übrigems lt.Google 1 Std 22 Minunten.
Bin aber auch gespannt, was DTG selbst als nächstes aus dem Hut zaubert, bis jetzt ist ja nichts angekündigt.

Ich meinte eigentlich eine Strecke aus dem Hause DTG selbst so wie Riviera Line oder North Norfolk. Die schottische Strecke ist ja wie gesagt von Thomson Interactive (unter Mitarbeit von Keith Ross-> http://www.thomsoninteractive.com) , und das Forest-Story-Dingsbums aus Japan.

Ach, TI das sind doch die mit der GARL, wo man ja nicht in die Außenansicht gehen darf um keinen Schock zu bekommen dass hinter dem nächsten Haus oder Baum rein gar nix steht.
Aber die Kooperation mit Keith Ross der ja eigentlich von der Optik her recht gute Strecken baut dürfte da hoffentlich in dieser Hinsicht gut tun, wenn richtig genutzt. -

Ach was weis man schon am Internet, immerhin ergab sich der Sinn meiner Aussage erst durch das kleine Wort "selbst", in "was DTG selbst als nächstes...", sowas kann man leicht überlesen... In jedem Fall wollte ich klarstellen, dass ich auch noch auf eine DTG Strecke warte - die ja üblicherweise in letzter Zeit sehr gut sind, und ja, ich finde auch MGAP sehr gut.
@dengstdu Stimmt, oh Schreck, GARL!. Andererseits, in Schottland ist neben der Strecke wirklich nichts ausser halt grasbewachsene Berge. Ich kann mich erinnern, das eine oder andere mal ein totes Schaf gesehen zu haben, mehr war da nicht. Aber gerade das macht ja den Reiz der Highlands aus (die grasbewachsenen Berge, nicht das tote Schaf).

Looks really great. Very promising. Loving the scenery with snow covered mountain tops. And of course the
Class 37 with the token system and 'some kind of working' snow plough.
I may only consider the track building by Mr. K. Mross. Will it be smooth and eventually feature superelevation? I like his talent in scenery and building routes, but some times it is a bumpy ride. -

As this is a joint project with Thompson I suspect they may have built the track and he the scenery. The track can often be bumpy in real life, especially with a heavy lok going reasonably fast. When I was lokfurher I sometimes took people for a run in the cab (different times then). Sometimes it was very amusing to see their reaction once the lok picked up speed. The 37's in particular felt like they were running on the sleepers instead of the rails! One of my colleagues took a pilot into the cab, the pilot left at the next station saying that he felt safer at 50,000 feet
