  • A compact version of the North Clyde Lines is now available on the workshop. This version has no track south of Carstairs which solve the crashes a lot of people were experiencing from the latest full version. Authirs post fom UKTS below;

    Howdy, I've practically been living inside RWTools the last few weeks, and after going through the route and filling in a lot of gaps, I now have a complete version of the route that's fully available on the Workshop...

    There are still a few bits and pieces I want to do, like creating more extensive Quick Drive scenarios (I just have a basic one there at the moment which is all routes via Mount Florida) and updating my website a bit more, but for the people who were unable to run the more detailed version, I'm hoping this will at least allow them to run something.

    The additional detail has not been lost though - the detail pack is still available and when combined with the Workshop route, will continue to be the primary version of the route.

    So:

    1) For people who cannot (or prefer not to) run the entire thing, use the Workshop-only route (without nameboards, custom buildings etc)
    2) Everyone else download the Workshop-only route and then install the detail pack (an RWP file) on top of it. Be sure to unsubscribe from the Workshop route first or else it'll overwrite the detail pack!

    Note that at the moment, the scope of the route hasn't changed, so if it's working for you at the moment, best leave it as it is until Phase 5!

    Workshop Route: https://steamcommunity.com/sha…filedetails/?id=907769903
    Detail Pack: http://www.suburban-glasgow.org.uk/home/detail-pack/

    From another post;

    "If you're missing a single one of the dependencies then no Workshop item will download and install; it'll be downloaded (as you've found) which does allow you to finish the installation manually."

    Interesting... I think that might explain quite a few folks issues actually!

    The prerequisites are:

    WCMLNorth - won't work without it
    Edinburgh to Glasgow - looks really bad without it
    WCML Over Shap - can probably get away with not having it, but some parts will probably look poor
    London Faversham High Speed - will look awful without it (especially the Argyle line!)

    The Workshop seems to think Isle of Wight and Port Road are required too - not sure why that is as they're not. (I actually don't own either of them!)

  • South London to Brighton Rush Hour Scenario Pack released on UKTS http://members.uktrainsim.com/…nfo.php?form_fileid=36866

    In this pack you will find a variety of scenario's set in the morning and evening rush hour's, though there are a couple set just outside of the busy times, these are empty stock position moves for, or just coming off, peak services.

    All 19 scenario's are 100% prototypical, and are based on the 2012 Working Timetable and the 2012 rolling stock diagrams. The AP/Waggonz Class 313 is used as AI only on scenario's that run to/from Brighton, but there are a couple of small scenario's using the Class 313 as well.

    Scenario's are based on Southern services only, using the Class 171, 377, 442, 455 and 456. Class 377/5's and 319's can be seen on First Capital Connect AI services, and are formed as per the 2012 Carriage Working Notice.

    Note due to the short platforms at London Bridge Low Level, I have short formed some of the set's so that they fit in the station.

    I'd like to thank Brian Loader for all his hard work testing these for me. Hopefully all will work well but be warned there could be some problems that occur. Please remember to save especially on long scenario's as there is a lot of AI.

    Steaming over Beattock http://www.wotawallysbits.co.uk/steaming-over-beattock

    Steaming over Beattock - Phase 1
    The Route

    The West Coast Main Line (WCML) was, and still is, one of the busiest rail lines in Europe. In this project the section between Carlisle and Glasgow is portrayed in the late 1950s, early 1960s. Many intermediate stations and signal boxes were still in operation, and so too were many goods yards. The modelling is based on the DLC "WCML-N" by RSC/KeithMRoss, but regressed from the 1990s by about 40 years, with OHLE and motorways removed. The project was started by "Carinthia", and is described by him here https://carinthia.sftt.co.uk/routes-cg.php. Since he is no longer able to complete it, I have taken it over (with his guidance). It is still a "work in progress", with the first phase being from Carlisle to Carstairs (where many passenger trains split for different destinations in Scotland) and on to Law Junction (where many freight trains split). Further phases will see the regression on to Motherwell, and then to Glasgow Central. Much of the trackwork for these phases is already in place, but not all scenery has been completed/regressed. Hence, it is drive-able throughout.
    Quick Drive scenarios from Carlisle, Carstairs and Glasgow (for passenger and goods trains) are included. A number of other scenarios are included with the route, and further ones will become available shortly.

    As well as the passenger stations, goods yards and carriage sidings, there are (and will be) a number of facilities for loading/unloading freight. These are/will include coal mines, power stations, minerals terminals, container facilities, plus non-working timber, oil, and chemical terminals. Many of the Lanarkshire and Glasgow iron and steelworks are/will be modelled, providing good sources for scenarios. In addition, most stations had working water columns on each side of the main line, or in sidings/passing loops.

  • North Lincoln Lines update

    From UKTS;

    John Kirk has released a new update to his route:

    The new update is of the New Line (Coningsby Junction to Bellwater Junction) so that trains from Lincoln will be able to traverse it for the seaside, which was an important factor in seaside specials.
    Retford included in update (so that Cleethorpes - Grimsby - Barnetby - Gainsborough trains can start or terminate by the ECML)

    Details of improvements in this release:
    New Line: Scenery completed, including new wooden platforms at Coningsby
    Retford Gainsborough line: Lines (includes stretch of ECML), all scenery

    New Assets: Cleethorpes wooden roller coaster, Cleethorpes Pier, the groynes at Cleethorpes, Blundell Park (Grimsby Town’s ground), Barnetby maltkiln, Wrawby Junction signal box, Barnetby Station footbridge, plus lots more small assets such as capless windmills (as they were in the 1950s).

    There are also the lines from Clarborough Junction to Lincoln, and from Gainsborough Lea Road to Sykes Junction, both to be scened up at a later date.
