DPS have released a free scenario pack for London to Peterborough ECML DPSimulation: ECMLS: London to Peterborough Scenario Pack - Available Now
Set in 2016, the pack covers passenger operations on the route and utilises the HST, Class 91/Mk4 DVT, Class 90, Class 313 and Class 321.
The scenarios offer varying and challenging operations and gives nearly 9 hours of further driving on this route along with varied AI and plenty of interaction with other services to keep you on your toes.
As ever, in order to provide the most realistic experience possible, the requirements list for this pack is quite extensive. The readme can be viewed from the download page, or from within the download package itself.
RequirementsThe following stock used has been chosen to try and replicate the correct workings from the real world, where possible. Although the list of required payware is quite extensive, a large proportion of users generally have many of the popular items listed below and I make no apology for the use of these items in order to be as realistic as possible. All scenario packs from DPSimulation are designed to add further enjoyment to what you have already purchased, however, if you don't own some of the items then please note that RWTools offers a facility to 'swap out' any items that you don't have meaning that these scenario packs should be accessible to all in some form. If you do swap out items, you do so at your own risk and DPSimulation cannot be held responsible for the any scenario not working as originally intended because of this process.PaywareEast Coast Mainline South – SteamLiverpool to Manchester – SteamEuropean Loco & Asset Pack - SteamClass 91 Pack – SteamClass 90 GEML Pack - SteamClass 321 FCC Pack - SteamClass 180 Pack – SteamClass 66 EWS V2 Pack – SteamClass 66 Freightliner V2 Pack – SteamRSC EWS Class 67 Pack - SteamClass 313 Pack – Armstrong PowerhouseClass 91 Enhancement Pack – Armstrong PowerhouseBAA Wagon Pack - Armstrong PowerhouseFreeware & RepaintsVTEC HST Repaint Pack (Superalbs) – UKTrainsimClass 365 'FCC/Great Northern' Repaint Pack - DPSimulationClass 365 'Great Northern' Repaint Pack - DPSimulationClass 321 'FCC/Great Northern' Repaint Pack - DPSimulationClass 317 'Great Northern' Repaint Pack - DPSimulationClass 66 V2 Repaint Pack – UKTrainsimBritish Gypsum FEA Repaint – DPSimulationDBS 90036 'Driver Jack Mills' Repaint - DPSimulation'Grand Central' ECMLS Repaint - DPSimulationEast Midlands Trains Class 158 Repaint – DPSimulationThe following are also required for the Class 317 FCC/Great Northern repaint pack. Update to South London & Thameslink
I have been given permission to use the edited assets that I have done, (still WIP) Includes WIP City Thameslink and Very WIP Blackfriars, still need to be finished. (to note requires download file from this page).
http://alienworlds.co.uk/blog/downloads-page/
Fixes and Updates:
* Includes City Thameslink and Blackfriars (both still WIP)
* Updated AI Pathing on MML Section
* More scenery included (no more floating track)
* Removed "Reskined" signage as these weren't working that well.
* Included Class 319 Quickdrive consist to work with South London & Thameslink as AI
Notes: The two stations are meant to be representations of the two stations and don't match the real station unfortunately - I don't have the skills to make stations from Scratch.
The download file does include Geopcdx files but only with permission to include them, unfortunately I'm unable to allow others to host these files.

SOUTHAMPTON TO WEYMOUTH ROUTE
Developed by Trevor Wood, with the aid of many fine members of the TS community, we are delighted to present this fine representation of the Southern Railway route from Southampton to Weymouth. This isn't just the mainline though. Also featured are the Lymington Branch, Bournemouth West, the 'Castlemans Corkscrew' via Ringwood, the old Christchurch route from Ringwood(closed in 1935), Southampton Terminus and the extensive docks network. The time period is loose, but most certainly steam age.
The perfect place to stretch the legs of your Southern steam locomotives!!To enjoy this route to the full, the following Steam content are recommended:

There´s something with rail traffic in Britain which bugs me since a long time: How do the drivers know where the are and the distance to the next station/signal/junction as there are no distance indicators on the route like in Germany? Is that all just basing out of memory with things like "the second signal after XY-station I have to brake to ensure stopping correctly a the next"?

from UKTS;
If you downloaded the route and asset files before 0900 on the 2nd December 2016 please download this file to correct some missing scenery assets - sorry!
http://www.oakwood-shed.co.uk/sww5/file ... ets-01.zip@Schwarzwaldbahner Drivers have to learn the routes and signalling and sign a document saying that they have a thorough knowledge of the routes. You have to learn the route so that you can drive over it in all conditions, night, snow, thick fog etc. Normally you would spend several weeks/months depending on complexity travelling in the driving cab on normal trains and learning everything . Also special trains were used in areas like London and the south. In modern times simulators are also used. Braking distances are not sign posted and normally you would find your own indicators eg, a bridge, farmhouse etc when you learned the route, or the drivers you are learning with, will tell you theirs. We also have a manual called the sectional appendix that gives details of the routes a bit like your Losebuch, but it is no use when you are looking for a tiny green light on a semaphore signal in thick fog at night travelling at 90mph. British drivers really need to learn a route properly. On routes with modern MAS signalling it is a little easier, with semaphore signals it is a big challenge. Until recently it was quite common that speed changes were not signposted unless they were very low and this was another thing you had to learn. In the past you often traveled over the routes for years before becoming a driver, but now drivers often come straight into the job with no railway experience, which is why they use simulators as well for route learning. Most route have mileposts, but often these are missing or don't make sense because different private companies built different sections of the route.

Devon Rails Updated http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=36314
Welcome to version 2.1 of Devon Rails, which is based on but vastly extends DTG’s Riviera Line.
Version 2.1 extends detailed scenery on the West of England Main Line to Whimple and includes a number of improvements to scenery on the Exeter to Exmouth branch and to the Great Western Main Line between Powderham and Cockwood.
The Exeter to Kingswear route is now a required route. It provides jointed track and station assets for the line beyond Paignton, which we will add to the route in due course.
The route will continue to be updated regularly. At the moment there is detailed scenery for:
Exeter to Plymouth, Exeter to Exmouth, and Exeter to Whimple.
There is partial scenery for:
Plymouth to Devonport and Cowley Bridge Junction to Tiverton Parkway.
And line, signalling and stations only for:
Pinhoe to Axminster, Cowley Bridge Junction to Okehampton and Barnstaple, Devonport to Gunnislake, and Tiverton Parkway to Bristol Temple Meads.
We’ll fill in the missing detail in due course, and also add the South Devon Railway.
You absolutely need to have the Riviera Line Modern installed for this route to work. For an acceptable experience you’ll also need to have DTG’s scenery packs, Brighton Main Line, and Riviera Line in the 50s routes; Just Trains’ Western Main Lines and Bristol to Exeter routes; DP Simulation’s Barnstaple to Exeter; and the UKTS community scenery packs. For the best experience you’ll need all the other assets listed below. You’ll need the train assets in the list to be able to run some of the scenarios, but they’re not essential if you don’t want to play them.
Installation instructions included.

I have a question for my fellow UK-buffs: I´m thinking about getting a Class 20 (seems to be a quite nice roadswitcher loco) but I can´t decide which one to get. Is there any point of getting the older and much more expensive JT Advanced version instead of the Steam version? Mind they will be AP´ed anyway.
-
Depends if you want all the variations, for instance the extended fuel tanks, refurbished DRS loks and multiple liveries (15). Personally I would say it is well worth it to buy the JT model, you also get a functioning RTT train with it, Nuclear Flask wagon and 15 scenarios. The steam version is just a slightly updated version of the IHH model and you only get one livery. The JT one is far better in terms of functionality and driveability. I have both by the way.
-
Thank you, @holzroller. As I´m mainly into the modern times, I guess the JT version with the DRS-locos is the way to go.
