  • Guys,

to make these things clear - the whole problem is because of how the game working with those normal maps. When Scenery Quality is set to lower values, the game engine starts to look for compressed normal map - nmc file. Hence the name - NMC stand for "normal map compressed". If such file is not present, it throws "Missing Texture" as a substitute. So if you do not want to download anything or have similar problems on different skins, just take the classic normal map with _nm prefix, clone it and rename to _nmc. It should work without problems.

One more thing - there´s another normal map file format the game looks for, too: _nms. That is just a compressed normal map, but with different compression. NMS uses DXT5 while NMC uses DXT3 compression method. It retains a slghtly better quality even with compressed format.

All in all - if the game engine do not find either NMC or NMS, it throws Missing Texture.

  • Everyone who is actually legally my DB 180 packages, got a link in the message on kofi. Just look at your own account and private messages. And for 180 014+ 015 there is a link directly inserted here in this thread. Just read the discussion carefully and a little back not just the last posts. It's a bit strange that you have it here and you can't find it.

Besides, I think it doesn't belong here. It makes this thread confusing. So if you want to discuss any issues with me, sign up for my FB group, or send me a message on Koffi.

    Thanks.

Traction motor blowers in 372 class work in few modes. Which mode is set is determined by their main switch on the control panel. They are constructed as two-speed: LOW or HIGH.

MANUAL mode - if you´re on zero notch, they will run on LOW rpm. Once you start to notch up (or simply you´re not on zero notch), their speed is determined by WINTER / SUMMER switch on the control panel leg.

AUTOMATIC mode - if you´re on zero notch and the battery is below 44V, they will start to run on LOW rpm and start charging the battery. When charging current is lower than 6A, they will stop (this happen only when on 3kV catenary system. If you´re on 15kV, the battery is charged with static charger and not using blowers). But if you start to notch up (from the 3rd notch), or using EDB (watch ammeters), they will run accordingly to WINTER / SUMMER switch setting, no matter what the battery state is, and they will never stop automatically - only go from HIGH rpm to LOW rpm when you go to zero notch again or stop using an EDB.

OFF mode - they are completely switched off. They won´t start automatically, not even on zero notch for battery charging, simply nothing. This state is signalised on upper diagnostic. If you were on non-zero notch, loco will notch down to zero and you can´t notch up. If you´re using EDB in this situation, only rheostat blowers will run, but not traction motor ones.

Traction motor blowers are also completely off, when you have both pantos lowered or both main switches are off.

They are a little bit complicated perhaps than what are you used for on your native german locos, but that´s how they were engineered. I just scripted them in such way.

Die braucht länger, bis die so ab gekühlt ist, das die aus gehen!

Hm, no. In automatic mode they will never run out, if you have been on some notches or were using an EDB before. The only situation they will switch off in this mode is when you are on zero notch and the battery is charged ultimately, but not if you were driving before it.
