[DTG] BR 9F Loco Add-On

    Die britische Dampflokomotive Class 9F in schwarzer British Railways Lackierung ist jetzt auf Steam erhältlich.
    Es handelt sich bei der Lok um ein verbessertes und angepasstes Modell von Iron Horse House (IHH).

    Erstes Szenario: Dump nach Restart, danach AI Entgleisung....enttäscchend, besonders da es am Anfang sehr gut aussieht, extrem viel Verkehr und ich bin immer wieder aufs neue erstaunt, wie gut die Port Road Strecke ist.
    Die Lok selbst springt (ohne Waggons) beim kleinsten Schubser am Gashebel davon wie ein Hundert Meter Läufer aus den Startblöcken, was das rangieren nicht gerade einfach macht. Schade dass die "Evening Star" nicht dabei ist, aber vielleicht kommt das noch über den Marketplace.

    If "Evening Star" does not come in the market place, you can be sure that there will be a freeware re-skin, probably both. The loco is well known and very popular in Britain. In the 80's she was a popular guest at many loco depot open days, I saw her often at these.

    Für mich ist das Ding unbrauchbar, weil eine präzise Steuerung nicht möglich ist. Ich vermute eine unsaubere Programmierung als Ursache. Ein Beispiel: Lokomotive allein (mit Tender) steht. Ich öffne den Regulator (HUD) auf 10% und warte, bis sie sich in Bewegung stetzt. Bei einer Geschwindigkeit von 0,2-0,3 schließe ich den Regulator sofort wieder und trotzdem beschleunigt sie mit Dampfausstoß und Rauch munter weiter. Erst nach einigen Sekunden und inzwischen bei einer Geschwindigkeit von 4-5 mph, reagiert sie auf den schon lange zuvor geschlossenen Regulator ; der Dampf- und Rauchausstoß hört auf; sie läuft nur noch. Meine vier anderen Dampflokomotiven verhalten sich alle grundlegend anders. Wenn ich den Regulator schließe, gibt es gleichzeitig keinen Dampfausstoß mehr und weiter beschleunigen tun sie auch nicht. Ich bin kein Dampflokomotiven Fachmann, aber dieses Verhalten scheint mir logisch. Ich würde meine Beobachtung gerne beim Entwickler oder Vertreiber der BR 9F posten, habe aber keine Ahnung wo. Frage; hat von den Spezialisten hier, jemand eine Ahnung, ob man da selber "an der Schraube" drehen kann ?

    Mir hat Steam heute auch die Lok installiert obwohl ich gar nichts gekauft habe. Allerdings habe ich auch die IHH Version von daher vermute ich mal das dieses ein kostenloses Update ist.
    Kann das jemand bestätigen?

    @LOELI12 the behaviour of the throttle is designed to simulate the steam chest that a real steam loco has. It is maybe a little bit too much with this loco, but in real life a steam loco does not respond quickly to the throttle being closed. You can disable this simulation and go back to the normal DTG version by pressing Key B.

    thank you for your advice. I like the simplified behaviour of the locomotive more than pure realism. I need to be honest, I am train simming just for fun.

    I have spoken with DT recently, they might be interested in a German dampflok, but they would need a lot of help with research as the team does not speak German, although one intends to learn. I think realistically this probably would not happen before the new sim engine, if at all, but who knows, and of course sounds would likely come from Steam Sounds Supreme. A pipe dream at the moment, but not impossible. Beekay is doing well, but producing a lok in TS takes a long time, so there is room for another producer without conflict, especially as VR specialise in diesel and electric.
