  • JustTrains has released an update to the Western Mainlines with some important fixes to all sorts of problems (now the Class 67 scenario from Paddington to Cardiff should work correctly).

Secondly they have just released the Oxford to Bicester extension for it.

    From their site:
The Oxford-Bicester Extension runs from the newly created chord that runs south off the main London-Birmingham route, the Chiltern line. Although at present the real line stops at Oxford Parkway and is due to join the main station in Oxford at the end of 2016, on your PC you can drive from the chord north of Bicester right through to any destination on the Western Mainlines routes!

    • Three stations - Bicester Village, Oxford Parkway (both with accurate interior details modelled) and Islip
    • Just Trains all-new Integrated Lightweight Signals (iLS)
    • Numerous detailed station features, including ticket machines, CCTV cameras, passenger information displays, loudspeakers, driver CCTV screens, passenger shelters and more
    • New set of textures for the default Class 166 DMU
    • Includes Just Trains wagons from the VGA/VKA Wagon PlusPak and Just Trains Cream & Maroon Mk.1 carriages
    • AccuAction level crossing at London Road, Bicester, with authentic barrier operation timings

This route is set at the end of the steam era and the beginning of the diesels. It covers the ECML from Kings Cross up to Arlesey, and the Cambridge main line from the junction with the ECML at Hitchin through Cambridge up to Ely. It also has the freight-only line between St Ives and Ely; the passenger line from St Ives to Cambridge and the route out to Newmarket. At present about 135 route miles - with a mixture of main line, some classic branch line and some industrial mileage.
    <br><br>
The line covers 51 stations - ranging from the tiny branch halts through the 1.5 miles of Cambridge station to the congested environs of Kings Cross and Top Shed.
The traffic across the region’s lines is very varied – fast passenger trains like the Kings Cross “Beer train” and the old Great Eastern "Fenman" route up from Liverpool street; endless coal trains between Doncaster and the great marshalling yards at Temple Meads and Whitemoor; food shipments (especially fruit) from the fertile farms of the fens - and local stoppers and pick-up goods making their stately way across the fens.
    <br><br>
This release is the second stage of this project - it includes an extended version of the original Cambridgeshire lines route which I have merged with a heavily modified version of the ECML-S route from RSC. Please read the route guide for details on what is included, to what level and with what future plans. Feedback is gratefully received - this is a long-term project aimed at providing a realistic, stimulating and accurate recreation of this fascinating area and era.
    <br><br>
For more info and screenshots visit the <a href='http://cambslines.ivimey.org/'>website </a>– the route includes a detailed manual including a full history of the route and the main traffic flows around and through it.
The route uses the track from the ECML-S route (this gives a much better ‘feel’ compared to the default Kuju track that I originally used). This means that the track WILL NOT LOAD unless you have the ECML-S. The IOW route and Euro-Asset pack are also important as they supply approx.25% of the scenic items. Of course, when I started, the ‘Euro-assets’ were included in the base game and the IOW route was either free or minimum cost (it’s so long ago that I can’t remember !).
The route is two-thirds ‘original’ work and one-third cloned from the ECML-S and then extensively remodelled. Many of the custom assets are either clones from existing items (mostly Kuju, RSC, DTG) or reference textures from them etc. Obviously I do not own the textures or underlying geometry of the ECML-S bit and the route owes a massive debt to the superior skills of the many people who created the assets that I have used or re-purposed. The rule of thumb is … if it looks a bit crap close up then I probably did it – if it looks good then someone else did it and I don’t own it or claim any rights over it.
The route is set in the 1950s but in order to provide for the widest time-span while retaining interesting period pieces I have been flexible – so the ECML has the expansion to 4 tracks and Potters Bar rebuild from 58/59 but I’ve retained the St Ives to Ely line that was half-abandoned by this time and Kings Cross has the surrounds of the early 1950s (pre diesel).

  • Released on UKTS Devon Rails http://members.uktrainsim.com/…nfo.php?form_fileid=35923

Welcome to version 1.01 of Devon Rails, which is based on and vastly extends DTG’s Riviera Line. This interim update adds the tracks to Gunnislake and Okehampton, and finishes the detailed scenery to Exmouth.

The route will be updated regularly. At the moment there is detailed scenery for:
Exeter to Plymouth, Exeter to Exmouth
    It has partial scenery for:
Plymouth to Devonport and Cowley Bridge Junction to Tiverton Parkway.
And line, signalling and stations only for:
Exmouth junction to Axminster, Cowley Bridge Junction to Okehampton, Devonport to Gunnislake, and Tiverton Parkway to Bristol Temple Meads.
We’ll fill in the missing detail in due course, as well as extending the rails to Barnstaple.
You will absolutely need to have the Riviera Line installed for this to work. For an acceptable experience you’ll also need to have DTG’s Brighton Main Line and scenery packs, Just Trains’ Western Main Lines and Bristol to Exeter routes, DP Simulation’s Barnstaple to Exeter, and the UKTS community scenery packs. For the best experience you’ll need all the other assets listed below, but it’ll probably work pretty well with just those above. You’ll need the vehicle assets in the list to be able to run some of the scenarios, but they’re not essential if you don’t want to play them.

    Installation instructions
    Route
Save the Devon Rails 7z file to a suitable folder. Unzip the contents to the same folder.
Copy the unzipped file xxx to this folder:
    C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonRailWorksContentRoutes
    Ceege folder
Copy the unzipped Ceege folder to this folder:
    C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonRailWorksAssets
    Riviera_Stations.dcsv
This is not essential, but you can get a comprehensive list of stations from the extended route to show in the navigation window by copying over the Riviera_Stations.dcsv file in the 7z to your system. Begin by using RW Tools to unpack the main content .ap file in this folder:
    C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonRailWorksAssetsRSCRivieraLineRouteMarkers
When you’ve done that rename the existing .dcsv file to Riviera_Stations.bak and then paste in the Riviera_Stations.dcsv in the download.
Bear in mind that you’ll get the same list when you use your original Riviera Line route, even though the stations aren’t actually there.

  • From DP simulations

    Glorious Devon TPO Patch
Patch for the users of Victory Works Travelling Post Office
Victory Works have provided the “GWR Saint Class and Travelling Post Office”
addon for Train Simulator 2017. In order to provide reasonably accurate locations for the lineside apparatus and track links for the owners of this addon the Glorious Devon team has produced this TPO patch for Glorious Devon Exeter to Plymouth ver. 1.2.
The patch provides location markers for the lineside apparatus, a few small changes to the scenery so as to provide room for the apparatus, with attending Royal Mail vans etc. and the manual provides lots of information for scenario writers who wish to produce TPO scenarios.
Included is a sample scenario primarily to show the placement of lineside apparatus and links in the scenario editor but also for a chance to have the excitement of driving a double headed Saint mail train from Exeter to Plymouth.

Onedrive link for a work in progress version if anyone would like to see how things are going, I've learned to back up several times a week to avoid losing anything if TS2016 takes a turn and does odd things to my track as it seems prone to, After a quick fly through in the editor this version seems fine https://1drv.ms/f/s!Aq3KWBrMkhYOhOcL5NZKqXo88VuRZA

    Payware requirements are as follows
