  • South Lancashire and North Cheshire - BR Blue

    from ukts;

The route is now available for download. From http://www.wotawallysbits.co.uk/liv-man-br-blue-route
This includes all that was in the previous route, Liverpool to Manchester Victoria & Manchester Piccadilly- BR Blue Period (including the scenarios under different GUIDs). Hence, players can remove the former (remembering to transfer any of their own scenarios or those downloaded from elsewhere).
    Enjoy

  • A further post on UKTS for the South Lancashire and North Cheshire - BR Blue

Further to Nick's post, this is Phase 1 of this route and contains all of the previously published Liverpool to Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly – BR Blue route and a brand new section completing the line between Wilderspool Loop, in Warrington, and Garston Docks…….also connecting to the WCML at Ditton. All Yards, Depots and Power Stations from the era are included. Due to the amount of regeneration and modernisation which took place in this area during the 1980s we have decided to be very specific regarding the year in which this particular section is set – 1983………12 months either side of this and much of the scenery, and track, would have been very different. The Manual included with the route details future Phases…next Phase will be Warrington to Chester.

All Liverpool to Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly scenarios are included ( they have been cloned to be compatible with the new route ) along with some new scenarios covering the Garston section and some Quick Drives and Free Roams….around 30 scenarios in total.

NB. This download contains several miles of WIP ( Work In Progress ) sections, WIP sections are driveable but there will be imperfections affecting scenery, track and OHLE –

WCML Ditton Junction to Weaver Junction – part completed between Ditton Junction and Runcorn so as to be visible from the Warrington/Garston line, track only between Runcorn and Weaver Junction.

Warrington Bank Quay to Chester – completed as far as the bridge over the Manchester Ship Canal, track only and some basic scenery up to Chester.

If you notice any issues then please report them here – Nick and I can then check to see if the issues can be corrected, we can then publish an update. We are already aware that the ReadMe is missing, this will be addressed soon with a different set of files being made available for download in case anybody is not sure how to manually install the current files.

  • New Scenario pack coming from DPS simulation;

New Scenario Pack - Coming Soon

I am pleased to announce an all new upcoming scenario pack from DPSimulation.

Featuring ten scenarios set over two routes, the Creative Rail 'Modern' route from York to Peterborough and ECML: London to Peterborough, the scenario pack is set in the late GNER era and focuses mainly on the Valenta engined HST, although you will get the opportunity to drive a Class 91 and more strangely, a Class 156 from Doncaster to Peterborough!.

Because the scenario is set over two routes, this means that the requirements are very extensive. I have announced the pack as in development today, specifically because a Steam sale is currently running and many of the addons listed below are available at a reduced price. It's also an opportunity to get hold of any freeware repaints in advance of the scenario pack being released.

The pack is now in the later stages of testing and will be released once this testing has been completed.

    http://dpsimulation.blogspot.c…rio-pack-coming-soon.html requirements listed here.

  • From UKTS;

A new version of the route by John Kirk is now available from

    http://www.lincs-train-sim.co.uk/
    or
    http://www.wotawallysbits.co.uk/n-lincolnshire-route

What is updated in the latest update since the last (December 2016) update?

Improvements with the April 2017 update include ....
Complete redesign of Scunthorpe, to reflect it in the 1950s/60s.
    Marshalling Yard at Scunthorpe.
    Marshalling Yard in the steelworks.
Big improvement to the Gunness (Scunthorpe) viaduct, and to Keadby Bridge across the Trent.
Keadby Power Station and its lines.
Wharfs, fed by rail lines along the Trent.
    Crowle.
The Bridges and viaducts on the Isle of Axholme Light Railway crossing the Scunthorpe main line.
The triangle off the southern end of the NLLR did not exist at the same time as the NLLR railway station, but I’ve used a bit of artistic license to include both.

Naming of Stations: “Scunthorpe” refers to the NLLR station. Scunthorpe & Frodingham refers to the station on the main line.

Note: The golf course visible from the viaduct is where Tony Jacklin was practising at the time set for this route! The Old Showground, home of Scunthorpe United is included as a distant object. It was home to a young Graham Taylor, and to Ian Botham and Kevin Keegan.

  • Looks like a London Transport heritage route is coming from DTG, this is exciting. Link to ukts post that has link to picture of achievements http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=361&t=147337
I always had a soft spot for the 38 stock. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Underground_1938_Stock it really pushed the technology of the time.

  • Good question, there were some LT routes in the pipeline, but gradually all has gone quiet. Some think there will be a mini route of the LT Acton museum, others a fictional route. The 38 stock used to work over the DC lines from Watford into London parallel to the West Coast Mainline, as far as Queens Park. So scenarios over part of the Freeware London Birmingham route would be possible.

  • The 1066 Line: Hastings - Tonbridge

by xguerra on Tue Apr 25, 2017 9:00 am
My biggest scratch-built route project to-date. The 1066 Line recreates the 32 mile Sussex/Kent main line between Hastings and Tonbridge via Battle, Robertsbridge and Tunbridge Wells. The route has 13 stations with the additions of St Leonards West Marina Carriage Sheds, Mountfield Quarry and Tonbridge West Yard.

The route has one Free Roam scenario and is QuickDrive compatible in both directions. There are normal passenger QuickDrive routes, as well as an empty-stock QuickDrive path to St Leonards West Marina and also some more unusual non-passenger routes starting/ending at Tonbridge West Yard and denoted in the QuickDrive menu by the prefix “[Freight]”. Also included are some updated QuickDrive consists for the Class 421 “4CIG” EMU in Jaffa Cake livery, which allows this unit to appear as AI in QuickDrive scenarios.

    Download from http://backdatedtrainsim.weebly.com/route-downloads.html

    Requirements:

    · DTG Chatham Main Line: London—Gillingham Add-On (Steam)
    · DTG Kent High Speed: London—Faversham Add-On (Steam)
    · DTG North Somerset Add-on (Steam)
    · DTG AP Station Pack (Steam—included in Doncaster Works, Falmouth Branch, Portsmouth Direct Line, Northeast Corridor, Horseshoe Curve, Woodhead, Trains Vs Zombies 2, Western Lines of Scotland, WCML Over Shap, and Pietmaritzburg to Ladysmith.) YOU ONLY NEED AT LEAST ONE OF THESE!
    · DTG Class 421 “4CIG” London & Southeast Jaffa Cake Pack (Steam)
    · DTG MP02 Town Scenery Pack (Steam)
    · DPS Glass Platform Shelter Pack & DPS Route Building Pack 01 (http://www.dpsimulation.org.uk/scenery.html)
All other assets are contained within the installation.

PLEASE NOTE: The route may not function without all of these additional add-ons present, and the installer will check whether they are installed.

    Known bugs:

    - the tunnel hole at the St Leonard's end of Hastings tunnel may randomly appear and disappear. I have replaced the hole decal several times but this hasn't fixed the problem.
    - the Tonbridge West Yard exit signal is correctly set up but won't show a green aspect or theatre code. I think the trackwork is too complex for the script and probably requires a custom script to be made in the future. In the meantime, just obtain permission to pass the signal at danger by pressing the "TAB" key.

I would like to thank Video 125 for producing the 1066 Line cab ride from 1988.
I would like to thank members of the Preserved Thumpers Facebook Group, and especially to Daniel Dowling who was kind enough to share copies of a 1957 timetable for the route.

I would like to thank my beta-testers:
    · James Crellin
    · Mark Newbury
    · Phillip Marshall
    · Ash Bickley
    · Johnny Best
