    The easy solution : paste the class186_cab_displays_nm.TgPcDx from Texture to Cab_CH, Cab_FR, SNCB and SNCF.

    The flexible solution : edit the class186_cab_displays_nm.TgPcDx texture and make your own mix... If you have a closer look at the texture, you will see that there are different area to edit to achieve what I made.



    The texture class186_cab_displays2_nm.TgPcDx handle the left screen when you enter the AFB menu. It also handle the flags/voltage of the main display when entering the setup...



    So to achieve a full custom cab, there are two files to edit in several area. And to do the full job, it should be done for the nm texture (HQ) and the nmc textures (compressed) for all localised Cab.


    I have no plan for such updates.

    Yesterday, I have a look at the Gothard's QS.


    There are two ways to deal with QD and Preload.
    1/ You set all your preload with the same consisttype (IE : eConsistTypePassengerIntercity) and in spawn point, you set 100% of the choosen type
    2/ You set the *right* consisttype to your preloads and for each spawn point, you choose some times of consists ?



    For my own, I try to use the right consisttype but many type are missing. Seacrhcing about this lead me to this topic :

    I would nice to have a king of *normalisation* for consists... Custom types 2 to 8 are free and can be used for car transportation.

    I can edit the other textures to preserve the other modifications made by DCR and just change the left MDF part. I think there is 4 or 5 textures to edit.


    There is also a second possible reason : the graphic settings. I have only rework the HQ texture.


    PS : I use a few repaints form the DCR pack (only some RailPool, SNCB/NMBS, SBB, MRCE, Captrain and Lokomotion). I have set the NMBS cab for all of them.

    The CT Traxx 186 have a nice implementation of ETCS and is well fited to drive on the new Gothard route. Since I find the Riveter Game RE 460 much too simplistic for my taste with a far too basic ETCS, I decided to upgrade the CT Traxx according to my préférences.


    The upgrade includes :
    - Dark external windows and cab
    - Internal weathered windshiled
    - Textures that tries to reduce the effect UM in the displays (CT Traxx is hard build for NM UM units)
    - Textures with more international flags/voltages (DE, AT, CH, IT, BE and NL)
    - Full Inputmapper (panto selection, safety train selection, AFB on/off, *vR brakes*)
    - vR cab views
    - Reduced tail light red illumination



    The upgrade can not fix :
    - Half power with AFB (but you can switch AFB on/off on fly)
    - Half braking display
    - Wrong voltage for CH on the left MFD
    - Wrong panth for 25 kV Belgium


    Not included :
    - Handbrake on by default : edit the engine .bin file, found handbrake and set default value to 1
    - Cold start : defined from the engine number in the DCSV file
    - Default panto : defined from the engine number in the DCSV file
    You can do it yourself according to your wish.


    Here is how I use my Traxx 186 Railpool.
    1/ Cold start with 00 in the DSCV file (00_918061861418) or by changing the engine number in a scenario. With 16_918061861418, the engine is started with CH pantograph up (seen manual for more).


    2/ Use Shift-B to turn battery ON (after many tries, I can not find a way to turn it off with the inputmapper).
    EDIT : Battery control did not work properly each time with inputmapper. Please use the mouse if it fails.


    3/ Press 0 to display safety and voltage selection.
    Use F and Shift-F to cycle voltages (it's a fictive selection but it uses the right panto (except BE), I did not find a better set of countries/voltages)
    Crtl + Shift + I : isolation (no safety)
    Crtl + Shift + A : ATB (I never use this mode)
    Crtl + Shift + E : ETCS (If battery was OFF, ETCS is in SR mode so take care not to go over 40 Km/h)
    Note : Safety changes only work when engin did not move.
    NumPad + Enter : validate selection
    Press 0 to have the km/h and kN display back


    4/ Press O for main switch (it will rise pantho)
    Press / to release handbrake (I change the default value in the engine .bin file). In any other way, you don't have to do it.
    Set direction, release brakes.
    If battery was of, ETCS is in SR mode. After 100 m, it will display : Track ahead free ? Press PageDown to confirm (I hate clicking on screen !)


    5/ Let's drive !
    ETCS is active and running.
    Shift-A allow to enable/disable AFB any time you want.
    F / Shift-F allow to change pantho on fly
    0 switch the right part on the central MFD any time.
    Ctrl + Shift + H : increase head light (I don't know if it was in the original inputmapper or if I had it)
    Ctrl + H : reduce head light


    The vR views... The left MFD is in night mode because I found the day mode too bright for me. It's a texture mod, it's not possible to switch like in vR engine.


    There are *bugs* or irrealistics things that I cannot fix because they are hard coded in the script. Editing textures also not fix them...
    I share my work *as is* (not for beginners). I wont spend much more time on fixing this engine. For me, she is fine for Gothard.

    Extract in a temp location, then copy in the Traxx folder and remplace the original file.


    PS : Please keep in mind that these are my personal improvements to make the Traxx 186 a more enjoyable engine on the Goathard. The goal is not to make a *real/universal* Traxx... It's impossible beacuse the orignal is in deep an NL Traxx build to run in dual engine. I spend four days on this job, it's enough. I wont be able to improve more things.

    Wow! It´s awesome that this already ggod locomotive gets the last few Bugs coorrected by you!! I hope you will share that beauty with us :love:*klatschen* I don´t know how it is in real live but could you maybe also check about the acceleration behaviour when the AFB is enabled. Sometimes, especially with long trains, that gets a little bit annoying

    I will share. But I can't fix underpowered and underbraking with AFB nor conception for 2 units. :)

    Hier ist mein modifizierter ChrisTrain BR 186 :
    - Die äußere Windschutzscheibe ist abgedunkelt
    - Verwitterte Innenwindschutzscheibe
    - Zähler geändert (CT BR 186 ist NL in mehreren Einheiten ausgelegt)
    - Linker Bildschirm im Nachtmodus
    - vR like Cabview
    - Inputmapper, der alles steuert: MDF, Stromabnehmer, Sicherheitssystem usw.


    ETCS funktioniert sehr gut, ebenso wie der AFB. *perfekt* Es gibt immer noch unrealistische Dinge wie eine SNCB / MNBS-Lokomotive in der Schweiz, aber es ist ein erster Test.

    No, the Re460 can‘t use in Germany and Austria. It has only the small Swiss-Pantographs and no German/Austrian Train Safety System (PZB).

    Ich habe den ChrisTrain BR 186 getestet. ETCS funktioniert sehr gut. Es ist keine VR-Lokomotive, aber besser als die Lokomotiven RG RE 460 und CreativeWorX.

    Well I did see them so blue when I was in Bodensee. The one I saw looks like on the attached picture.
    It's easy to change the color. I will make them more blue next time I will work on mods.

    It's not perfect and it changes from a weather to an other but I'am glad with my new windows texture. I have also fix the ugly windows in the passenger view. :)

    Thanks. The brakeforce being too low is a real problem when stopping at platforms. There is close to no brakeforce below 50km/h

    I'am goning to try with some changes in SBB_Re460_Engine_Simulation.bin :
    - 100 for MaxForcePercentOfVehicleWeight
    - 160 for MaxForcePercentOfVehicleWeight
    Those values are often used. No sure it will fix Under 50 km/h brake force which can be handled by script.

    According to RE 460 wiki in french :


    Pour le freinage, la 460 dispose d'un frein électrique à récupération, de freins à sabots et enfin de freins à aimants permanents (ces derniers pour les freinages d'urgence uniquement, ou en mode parc couramment).


    PMS are used for parking and emergency brake. In game, they seem not used for EB.


    According to an french video, mirrors can be opened in stations and closed after departure.


    Anyway, RV force opened mirrors. PMS are always down and not animated.


    You can specify the routes where a preload will be uses. It's in the ConsistValidRoute node (line 96 in the exemple).

    About the track
    + The layout : It's the Gothard so it's great and as enjoyable as Semmering.
    + It runs soomth and loads fast
    - Scenery is far too poor comparing with recent route like Munster to Bremen or Konstanz to Villingen
    -- No life ! Except car on road, there are any animated object
    -- Bugs on QD : distance display, train going on right track without reason
    -- Mistakes on track speed
    -- Missing signal for speed change
    --- Did not handle two tracks speed : signal display two speeds and HUB did not reflect the one according to the train (passanger / freight)
    --- Always red signal on the other track


    I don't have ride enough on the track for more feedback about signal and so on.


    About RE 460 (one of my favorite engine)
    ++ Train lenght and weight displayed on the dashboard
    + Cab is far more nicer than the Mersel one
    + Nice 3D model
    - No softshadow
    - No selectable panto
    - Single speed wipers
    - Wipers work on both end
    - Single headlight level
    - No rollo for driver (but it close for other cab so anim exists)
    - No weathering on windshield
    -- Missing glass behind the useless opened mirrors
    -- The mirrors must be closed outside the stations (or user selectable).
    -- No power switch
    --- Jerky AFB when going down
    --- Physic and brakes (RG RE 460 alone can cross Gothard at 236 Km/h ! Yeah, she stays on track)
    --- ETSC far to basic ! It did not display next speed reduction in QD
    --- Magnetic brakes are not animated and only act as parking brake. They seem not working for emergency.
    ----- Worst sound ever since years



    Even DTG have made beter engine than this one... Driving pleasure is not present with this RE 460 wich can just be a AI engine.
    This addon was released too early to take adavantage of the national Swiss day... RG have to go back to work and take exemple on Freiburg-Basel, Konstanz-Villingen or Muenster-Bremen.

    Is the RE 460 allowed to run in Austria and Germany ?


    About the Rivet Game RE 460, what a shame ! Animation for useless mirrors and not for brakes as it is a key feature of the RE 460...
