I don't know if it's been since TSW 6 or even earlier, but I noticed (thanks to a tip I read on the DTG forum) that the DB BR 101 (HRR, not Expert Line) has now been split from its original path and works even if you install only the Loco DLC.

So this means DTG might remove that constraint from all pre-TSW 3 Loco DLCs.

Of course, they won't do this out of greed.

    Sounds interesting.

At least here, unlike TSW, there are no "flying cars" on the streets...

Sorry, but I'm on vacation this week.

So I have a lot of free time.

And thanks to the admins, too, because this topic is pretty off-topic here.

A little more about DTG and UE 5.

Actually, a couple of years ago, on the dtg forum or in a TSW stream (I can't find it now) there was talk of them tinkering with UE 5.

All this to say that they haven't considered this possibility since last summer. They were just obviously waiting for a more stable version of UE 5 (I think 5.2 or 5.4).

The new simulator is already well underway, in my opinion.

Getting back to current events, this afternoon I ran the Left Rhine course on a Legion Go 2 Z2 Extreme OLED (and yes, I bought that too, i'm seriously addicted to technology these days).

I ran everything on Ultra and I have to say the result was nothing short of thrilling.

The route (I played it with the 1984 timetable) is also really well done.

. Aber davon sind wir noch weit weg. Ich erinnere daran, dass Lukas ja selbst gesagt hat, dass sie für ihre Expertserie noch für einige Jahre bereits Pläne haben. Also alles noch sehr weit weg.

    Not necessarily.

Could be supported in parallel like TS with TSW.

Apart from the German route which is only a extension (and not a small one), what exactly makes this release more lackluster than the previous ones?

    Just a feeling.

    But I could be wrong.

There's (in my opinion) a lot to interpret in the Metro Rivals announcement.

After all, it was DTG itself that drew a (not so subtle) parallel with a new train simulation.

The last part of the Streaming is related to this.

Matt clearly states that it wouldn't be honest to hide the fact that Metro Rivals isn't a stepping stone to something else.

Many people probably need things written down on a 20-foot-by-20-foot sheet in huge letters, because they can be convinced.

    Leaving aside UE5.

Perhaps it's because another iteration (or two) of TSW with the same issues as the current one, plus the hassle of having to re-download all the content (it took me a week with TSW 6), has annoyed users a bit.

Something has to change, though, we can't go on like this forever.

With this year's release the program seems more "lackluster" than ever.

I mean... it looks like it's been neglected.

    It's not a crystal ball.

Personally, I like the current TSW, but when (NOT IF...) they release a new game in UE 5, the two programs will no longer have anything to do with each other.

If anyone is thinking of a merger between the current TSW and a new TSW, they're headed down a dead-end path.

Either DTG comes up with something, or it's over.

Personally, I'll be investing much less in TSW from now on.

    I don't trust it anymore.

After all, if you look closely, 8 years have passed since the creation of TSW with UE 4.

    Tempus fugit...

Probably because TSW 6 is exactly the same as its predecessor, and the few additions aren't particularly noteworthy.

Furthermore, the new Leipzig course is rather mediocre.

Then there's Metro Rivals, developed with UE 5, which, according to DTG, will be the testing ground for a future TSW (or whatever it's called).

Metro Rivals Is essentially the same thing as Euro Fishing back then (i.e., learning to use UE 4, in that case).

Is it still worth investing so much in a product like the current TSW, even though I still like it quite a bit?

We're about to enter Middle Earth.

    It hasn't happened yet.

However, if it were to happen, I'd have to think carefully before buying another BR 143 just because of the Nanite.

Besides, the current TSW is still so short of rolling stock...
