I, for one, would welcome a beta public release for the full price so that I could get my hands on it earlier. I know the bad experience with RT, but CT is a much more trustworthy developer than RT is, I'd say (my personal opinion that others may not share).

One question to Chris - are you planning to implement a "centering" key in RS1 just like you did in Flirt 3? I am talking about the E key that puts the combined controller directly to the middle position.

That's actually quite handy in the Flirt 3 unit.

    Thank you!

So I resolved all the issues above only to find the model has a missing texture. It references a woman passenger texture from the Lint 41 package by mistake. Great job by RT. Already dropped them an email, but not sure I'll get any response as the last one didn't get replied to for almost a week now.

Is there any way how to get this texture other than buying the BR 648 (Lint 41) - meaning is this a texture used by RT only? The texture is:

    \Assets\Railtraction\Lint41\br648\passengers\textures\woman1.TgPcDx
(I know this is pointing to an RT model directory, but perhaps the same texture is used elsewhere?)

    Thanks!

Thanks a lot for your answer. The first item means that I simply sometimes, while driving, get a traction lock and can' get rid of it, so the train won't move anymore (it just cruises till the speed reaches 0, I simply have no traction).

As for the cruise control I have checked the key mapper file and the key combination indeed is control+shift+A. But I suspect the entry is rather weird.

Is there anyone out there who actually used the cruise control with this unit I wonder??

    Hello,

I bought the RT's BR640 in the recent sale and have two issues with it:

1 - If I add too much power when I'm setting off I sometimes get a traction lock (red light on the panel). This is probably fine, however I did not find a way how to get rid of it - once it happens the only thing you can do is to restart the scenario. Is there a way to remedy this?

2 - Both the product page and manual speaks about cruise control, which should be actiavted by Ctrl+Shift+A. However this key combination does nothing. Can anyone tell me how to work with the cruise control please?

    Thank you very much!

    OK, understood.

On the contrary you wouldn't believe how many payware developers leave that crackling there, I was correcting this for many locos, including RWA Taurus and other. Maybe my ears are too sensitive but still...

By the way many thanks for your sound mods, the one for Flirt is (even as a beta) way better than the original sound!

You usually have file without an internal loop inside the file, just the whole file is looped. So the rule is, ideally that the sound's beginning should be visually as close as possible to its end. And this is best achieved when you cut the sound when its graphical representation in the sound editor crosses the x axis. And additionally when the sound's wave is rising in the beginning of the file then it should be coming from the bottom part at the end.

I'm using Wavosaur for these simple corrections, simple sound editing software you can get for free. I attach four screenshots showing how file start and end should look like and how it should NOT look like. I think their names as well as the file content should be self-explanatory. If you use Wavosaur (or any other editing software) you have to zoom into the sound quite a bit to see this level of detail.

Please note that I am no expert in sound editing and someone else could advise you something even more sophisticated, but I simply know that this works and it works very well. It's always good to listen to the sound in a loop before you test it in TS (Wavosaur can do that, you just need to tick the Loop button at the top.

Of course a problem could appear when the sound is stereo and you cannot find the right start for both channels. Then you either find a place where both channels are as close as possible to the x axis or put one directly on the x axis and the second channel must then be adjusted by fade in/fade out or other means to get it to the center. However in most cases bringing both channels rather close to the x axis does the job anyway. You can try it until you can't hear any crackling while playing the loop. Takes a few mins or less.

    Hello,

I just installed your b04 of the Flirt3 sound mod and found the very same issue as with the b03: clicking sound caused by a sub-optimal loop in the Fahrmotor.wav file. I corrected it already.

I actually see such loop issues in other sound mods you created too. It's a very simple rule to follow to create smooth loops, I can try to explain, in case you're interested please let me know.

Maybe you just don't care as you don't hear it; I know that many people don't.

If you have photoshop or something like it, you can edit the alpha channel of the texture used for the window in the cab view and make it whatever you want :D

Thanks for the tip, Chris. I finally learned how to do it and... wow!

So far I modified the glass texture of the G6, Albula's Ge4/4 iii and your Flirt3 Suwex and what a difference! With the clearer window driving these models is much more enjoyable to me now, especially the Flirt.

So obviously I don't care that much what the glass texture of the RS1 will be now, but I still insist that making it clearer is the way to go.

Frankly, what I also discovered is that it also depends a lot on what technology your monitor uses: I know that this gray tint is much more bearable on TN and IPS-based screens while on my main AMVA+ panel the gray looks thicker. It's probably due to the slight black crush effect of the panel's display technology. And I sure you there's no way to get rid of it by tuning the monitor's settings.

So maybe a small hint for all developers: what you see on your screen is not what _all_ your customer will see on theirs... ;)

The descirption at the vT shop says that the scenarios utilise the vR BR 132 (wonder why not 232??). Does it mean we need to have it to play the scenarios? The description does not speak about any requirements (except for B-L of course).

On the contrary the Steam's version is clear: Steam BR 232 is packed with the route.

Would like this to be cleared up before I make the purchase...

Of course I can use RWTools to swap stuff, but anyway...

    @MWABXK
Per my knowledge you cannot easily change the transparency of a cab window. You perhaps even need the cab model sources for that...? If you can show me how, great, please do...

And sorry, but for me this is pretty important because you're looking at most parts of the model only some of the time, but you look outside through the cab window _most_ of the time while driving. And if all you see outside is covered in gray, well...

Again as I say above - I fully understand what the creators are trying to achieve by this, but again - in TS the outcome is simply different compared to the real thing.

    Hello Chris,

I've had an opportunity to see the RS1 cab today (and even made some photos) and I can confirm the front window is pretty clear. Of course there might be dirt on the edge outside of wiper's reach and of course it's not as clear as if the window wasn't there, but I urge you again... please make the window more clear than you did with the Flint, at least to some degree. Per what I've seen today having the same level of gray tint would not be realistic here.

Hello, thanks a lot to both of you. I don't have any 3dzug wagons yet, so buying an item I already have is not something I'm afraid could happen here ;)

I just wanted to know if I get the very same version of the wagons with the PLUS versions as I'd get with the standalone wagon pack. That's all. From the above answers it seems that yes.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

could someone please answer this - if I buythe 3dzug PLUS scenario pack that has some wagons included, do I get the same version of the wagon pack as if I bought it separately?

Meaning: if I get the wagons through one PLUS scenario pack will they be usable with another scenario pack that requires them?

    Thank you very much!
