    Excellent, thank you both!!!

Rosenkill If you are referring to some other RLB-related products that may be released I am personally very much looking forward to it!!!

And one more question if I may: if I install your update over the JTG/TSG version I am getting the same product as your shop is offering, is that correct? Or are there still some other changes?

P.P.S. I know I can get the update from the RLB site as well, but I haven't installed it yet and would prefer getting the new installer from JTG.

Ahhh... just read the full JTG's product page...the update is available ONLY via the external RLB site. Understood. Rather weird they decided not to publish it though...

I just received an email stating that the v1.1 update for the Ruebalandbahn route is available via JTG now. However if I redownload the package from My Digital Library (it is the Vorverkauf version) I am still getting the old file (JTG-550-JE.rar, 1 455 089 191 bytes, MD5 2bf1370c637d0a0326c31eb2d44d1d4e). Is the update really available and how can I get it?

Perhaps the pre-order (Vorverkauf) version was not properly updated? Or those who pre-ordered are not eligible for the update?

    Thanks a lot.

P.S. I am asking here as others may have the same issue.

P.P.S. I know I can get the update from the RLB site as well, but I haven't installed it yet and would prefer getting the new installer from JTG.

Some of you might already know the Czech freeware route 140 Chomutov-Cheb released a while back.

Now the author is working on an extension (to be released soon), route 142, Karlovy Vary - Johanngeorgenstadt.

Czech signaling is of course used throughout the route, but the author would like to install authentic German signals in Johanngeorgenstadt. He tried to use the HL signals from this site, but seems like they are mutually exclusive with any other signaling and don't do the job they're supposed to (passing through Czech signals does not clear the block), which is probably logical as scripting is different.

Is there any recommendation you can give how to solve this situation or is there anyone out there who could potentially even help directly with this?

    Thank you very much.

JTG Where exactly have I been impolite? Where exactly have I lied? If the translation is correct you are considering releasing the update, but excuse me, what has been happening for the past 7 months then?

I am simply stating my views as a customer to which I am - once again - fully entitled. To promote a product and then behave like you have nothing to do with it is not perceived well by me as a customer. There's nothing else to it. I do understand your business relations, that it is more complicated than that and it's primarily not your fault, but you could have been more active; when you did have the time to release pieces of info on the route to increase hype in the pre-release period, you certainly have 2 mins of your time to ask about an update and how things could be managed, more so when the community here that you monitor quite well was well aware of it and people were actively asking for this update. I don't believe you were not aware of the update's existence. You chose not to care. And that's my view which other people may not share here and that's OK.

I know JTG's support overall is top notch and I won't say otherwise. But what happened to this route is a disappointment to me. Is it JTG's fault? I don't know, not primarily for sure, but I do believe JTG could have acted differently in the past 7 months.

My sincere apologies, I read the full explanation, but it does not contain anything new. The matter is simple: if BR143er created an update (and big thanks of course to him for that!) beginning of April and nothing moved forward in 7 months, there is nothing else to be said other than that no-one simply cares. JTG don't care, TSG don't care. The latter of which was already stated openly by Maik by the way. Ruebelandbahn is an abandoned product. After all the ads and promotion last year it's a sad result. You have to feel it yourself. After all that you as JTG did last year, your name is somewhat tied to the product, whether you want it or not.

As for my reply to 143er I did not mean to be rude, but given the circumstances and my position as the customer and BR143er as the developer (he did get his share of the paid sum, I hope, if not, there is something terribly wrong here) I could not do otherwise than consider his answer as rude. If I asked about the update the week after he had announced it, fine, but this answer is hardly acceptable after such a long time. And it's not about whether the update is going to make it or not: if 143er replied that he's sorry but due to TSG and/or JTG policies the update probably won't be released, it would be a polite acceptable answer. But making it feel like I'm the bad one asking after 7 months...come on.

And to those that are clapping their hands to such approach of JTG: you are not doing a good service to us, customers. This is not what we should teach developers and publishers. We should teach them humility, respect and that a happy customer means a returning customer. And returning customers make the biggest profit. Period.

I will not add anything else to the topic as there is nothing to add here. I will silently wait for the update as I may still be pleasantly surprised by its unexpected appearance. In the meantime I will continue the discussion by speaking with what the customers have always spoken best with: their wallet.

"Oh boy," I am sorry to have asked when you first announced the update was basically ready back in April and nothing has happened in more than half a year. HALF. A. YEAR.

I feel sorry to have to say this, but after all that time what kind of answer is this?

"We will deliver an update but when, how and all of the connected questions to the chosen way need to be answered first." So you really take your time when answering these questions has taken half year with no result, right? Very tough questions indeed I might add, harder than solving the global warming obviously.

Please don't make it look like someone's being impatient here, the way you're trying to in your reply. If I did not start this with my original question about the update a week or two back I am very sure no update would ever see the light of day. And your answer makes me believe it's the way it will end up anyway. I've learned what such answers mean with TS developers.

And I can't fully accept JTG's explanation either. When a product is being offered for a pre-order it's all advertising, all's great, hype everywhere, everyone is working closely with everyone, tons of news. When the product is released and did not sell well - it's not our product, so far we received no official news (read: so why do you bother us at all?). Like the teams wouldn't suddenly be able to communicate.

Don't like this at all and forgive me - as a paying customer I am fully entitled to express such an opinion and my disappointment.

OK, so as I understand it, in principle no-one would have a problem with a community update. So it's now in the hands of 143er who unfortunately chose not to reply for reasons unknown to me. I kindly ask 143er to let us know if a community release would be an option or not. I believe the project's unique nature and the love you gave it deserve the update to be released.

JTG  Maik Goltz On the contrary, I invested EUR 35 in the product, after a year I would not mind paying extra EUR 5 (max, say, 10) for an optional update to cover the expenses to release the update. In my view it's still way better than not releasing the update at all. If the update is ready and requires several days of work to prepare it and release it, it might be even worth it for you as the vast majority of current buyers may be tempted to buy it. We get a chance to have the update, you get some extra money from the route plus your reputation with me and - as I believe - many others would be saved. Win-win situation. With the state as it is now I know I will never go for any JTG or TSG pre-order again. And I doubt I am alone.

Simply said: I can't create the update myself, but I'm willing to pay for it to bring this extraordinary route closer to perfection (and yes, there are minor bugs that would be nice to fix as others pointed out).

    143er

With the above said, would it be please possible to kindly provide the update you created to JTG for an unofficial patch release with no official support?

    JTG

Would you be willing to release such a patch as a separate download under the condition it is clearly stated it has no official support and users install it at their own risk of breaking the route?

Would it be possible to kindly ask 143er and JTG for an answer here? If it's a problem the original question written in English, could someone please translate it?

It is such a waste if 143er prepared the update already and it's locked in a drawer because people aren't able to talk to each other.

Maik Goltz OK, fair enough. In that case it would be great if it could be released as a separate package for those that want it and I believe users deserve it: they are not those who caused this to be a commercial failure, are they? Rather the opposite: they are the ones who bought the product in the first place.

No there are no game breaking bugs and I do understand you don't want to spend time on something that didn't make the money you expected. What message it sends to those who are/were willing to preorder your products is another matter.

However where I can't agree at all is the first part: KV was not updated with the latest Steam additions (ambient audio and some minor fixes), this was later corrected by the Hausach extension, but the original shop KV remained the same. BR 101's AFB fix is another example: it made it to the Steam release but the shop version remained unpatched.

JTG Whoa, wait a second... isn't the route developer saying the route update is completed earlier in this thread back in April??

After more than half year this is the current status?

The only two things missing in the answer is telling me to monitor your facebook page for updates and thanking me very much for contacting you...and we have a typical first class DTG response here.

I thought JTG could do better.

BTW I posted this last year...

I really hope the update is not coming as a future Steam release with original users left behind. Something we saw before with Maik's products. Even waitng for a Steam release would be a huge disappointment.... we pre-ordered last year for a reason!

For anyone complaining the loco takes too long to start - a fast startup option is available using Ctrl-Shift-O

It has three phases, not sure what is done specifically in each though... but if you reach phase 3 there's just a few things left to be done to drive...

If you installed the TRAXX just on one PC, are you sure you did not install it multiple times? Whenever you run the installer and choose Full installation, one activation is taken off of your online account, the installation process is telling you that.

One question - what hard drive failed? If it was not the OS one, you can try to install the product just using the update option (not full installation) and see if the 186 will work in-game. I never really digged deeper into what piece of info is saved where on the PC for the activation where the loco script reads it. But you can definitely try it - the worst case scenario is that the 186 won't work for you when you start a scenario with it - its script will complain about the activation not being complete.

If it does not work you'll indeed need to ask Kal000px to add more activations.

Hello, I had already posted a few documents via a link, including an original book timetable, the modified book timetable for the route and various trains, and a link to a usable signal book. Today I also have a 1 x 1 on the special features of the route, in German, but still translatable, I think.

Hi, thanks, is it in this thread? Ok, can search for your posts I guess... :)

It's hard to decide where one should post this, but I choose this therad as I trust JTG are monitoring this one here closely.

First off I have to say this route is really unique, not sure if there is any other route where you are going through such steep gradients (whether up or down) at a very low speed (well, apart from the narrow gauge Swiss routes), it is exactly what I've been always looking for.

As for any errors, I won't repeat those alerady listed here or elsewhere (some scenarios cannot be completed, loco panto issue, loco sound too low (at least to my taste),...). However I'd welcome the following is addressed/added too:

    - add information on signaling into the manual - I am really lost here although I do know German signalling to some extent from other routes

    - add detailed "Buchfahrplan" - with speed changes and especially gradient information. The route distance markers are omnipresent within the route (which is awesome!!!) so it would be very easy to follow such a document and know what to expect - where to add power and where to start braking. This is vital to get most out of the route otherwise maintaining speed is a real challenge.

    - provide an extra installer that would change the texture of the electric heater on the window to something lighter so that the outside world would not look so dim. I could probably do it myself, but I believe there will be others who would prefer this so it would be nice to be included in the official release.

    - add outside sound when the loco side window is opened

    - English manual would be great (but is not really necessary)

    Thanks a lot!
