Beautiful route, thanks very much

Aerosoft have said on Facebook that they need to re-write the installers for the OMSI add-ons, but it is very poor that they have no warning in the shop. They say that the rewrite will be quick? The city-bus add-on seems to be included in the new version. So far I have Great Grundorf running and will try with some of the other free third party routes later. Originally the HST's were fitted with Paxman Valenta engines, at the end of BR days some were re-engined as a trial with VP185 and Mirlees Engines. Since privatisation all have now been re-engined, mostly with the Mirlees engine, but some, for instance Midland Mainline use VP185's. Some that were re-engined with VP185's have been re-engined again with Mirlees. For me the only real sound for an HST is the Valenta, but that is because I drove them with this engine. I hope this is clear, unfortunately my German would not be so. The AP sound packs make a very big change to the very poor RSC sounds, to the coaches as well, they are well worth the money. The Valenta is generally regarded as the better sounding engine in real life.

For fans of the Island, North East rails has been released, this is a much expanded version of the Blythe and Tyne route with great attention to detail. It is part of the UKtrainsim freeware packs, and presumably will appear on the other sites that host these packs. This does not overwrite the Blythe and Tyne route Requires the following Payware

• US Community Asset Pack
• Woodhead Route Add-on
• BR Class 101 DMU

General consensus on uktrainsim is that it is the ECML from Kings Cross, most likely to Peterborough. The catenary means that it is dated sometime after 1975. The track spacing and the Mark 3 Catenary are only combined in this way on the ECML.

British signalling does not control train speed in the same manner as German Signalling. It is the responsibility of the driver to control his train speed according to his knowledge of the route, the current weather and track conditions, and the speed and braking capabilities of his train. As an example, in real life in the 90's on the Edinburgh to Glasgow line driving a class 158 I would pass a double yellow at about 60mph. A single yellow I would pass at 40mph. But this could change according to weather conditions, class 158s were very prone to slipping under poor rail conditions when braking, and it would also change if I was at a point on the line where signals were closely spaced. Driving a freight train these speeds would be 10-20mph lower depending on the weight and braking of the train.

The class 360's have no guard, so there is no driver/guard buzzer. They are equipped for driver only operation.
