Soon, there will be no more RSSLO track *in the middle off the grass*!!! I have tweak some xsec and without any other work, SemmeringBahn and Tauernbahn already have the enlarged gravel track bed. I have just to some tests on Tirol Austria, the lofted item is perfect on flat track. It's possible to lay gravel track bed portion of upto 5 Km in one time. I think I will place it on all the tracks.

True. I do the same most time for my favorites engines. I have a data base with speed of engine at a spot with the same batch of wagons. So I can check if one or an other have abnormal performances.

If you are aware of performances, you have noticed that TS is really not realistic. Not the sole fault of the game, but also wrong values set for wagons weight, friction force, and so on. With some wagons, your engine speed descrease with no break in an important gradient. In an other way, some wagon seems to have a very very low weight and have a really small slow down when climbing a mountain.

PS : I have tested longer startup and shutdown time for engine. It's not good. If the startup or shutdown is longer, there is a time without noise.

We speak about a single engine not a EMU or DMU.

vR BR 101 : 8850 HP (6400 kW => 8700 HP)

BTW, RSSLO seems to always place value in kW and most of their engines looks underpowered. No need to Wonder why now... More the engine is powerful, less the missing power is noticeable.

I have checked the simulation.bin of the RSSLO BR 285 and search the web to have informations.

MaxPower => 3260 ! This the power of the engine in HP, not in kW. I have check a lot of vR and DTG engines, they all have the value in HP.
MaxSpeed => can be set to 95 mph to help the BR 285 reach 140 Km/h for passengers trains. I have kept 90 mph
StartupTime => about 20 to 25 sec. I still have to test it...
ShutdownTime => about 15 to 20 sec. Also untested.
MaxPowerAtRail => 2800 some diesel engines have the same value as MaxPower. DTG class 68 (very great engine) : MaxPowerAtRail = MaxPower/1,16. vR BR232 uses 3000 on both places.
DieselUsedPerHourAtMaxPower => 150 like DTG Class 68

I have set some of thoses values and the BR 285 is far better to drive. Now the BR286 can climb to Brennero at a decent speed with 8 to 12 loaded freight wagons.

Last week, I play train simulator in UK and I was wondering why the headlight were so dim. I send a mail to Amstrong Powerhouse, they tell me that train light are used to make the train visible but not to allow the driver to see in the dark. Well, I'm a little surprised.
I know TS is a game but vR engine (and most german engine) have more powerfull headlight. Some even have long range headlight. So I was wondering if it's different in UK and Germany, or if older train have low power headlight ? Well, if someone know about how headlight really work in real trains and can tell me, I would be very pleased.
