One small point, it is the UK customs and excise office, not the English tax office. You could offend a lot of Scots, Irish and Welsh with such a statement in this not so United Kingdom ![]()

Currently a 1960's version of the Riviera route is being produced for the workshop. Not released yet, but here are some screenshots http://steamcommunity.com/prof…/screenshots/?appid=24010
Edit: this will no longer be a workshop project as only using DTG assets would be too restrictive -
An excellent route available in the workshop is Settle & Carlisle 1975. This is still being expanded by the author
Also on Worksop Darren Porters Edinburgh and Glasgow expansion, and his Portsmouth line extension. -
You should also look in my British thread here The British thread (english language / Englisch Kenntnisse erforderlich) it is not only about payware.

Very interesting news on this, it seems that there is a loophole. From DT's FB page
"P2 update. Due to EU tax issues, Which We've spend the last 3 days on, there is none. HOWEVER, good news, we've managed to solve the EU tax issue. From January 1st 2015 all downloads will be available tax free with one change. UK, rest of the world, Including US darkest, Peru, and assorted despotic Middle Eastern states, downloads will be sent automatically. For the EU, Including France, Germany and Ireland, we'll send your downloads with Extra love, care and attention using a new manual system werewolf having Especially commissioned. It Seems e-services are thosethat are automatic, and that's the ones did are taxed .. If we do things things manually for you guys, it's a bit of Extra pain but it gets around the issue, and we can keep you tax free too. HMRC have confirmed this is okay" -
JT might not be in as strong a position as you think. They had big problems recently and had to write off a large debt after an investor pulled out of the company. They have cut their staff and some of their operations. Potentially this could cause them problem as well, maybe the straw that broke the camels back, but hopefully not. As to the EU, and governments we all have our opinions, but that probably needs to be discusses under Plauderecke, not here, because I think there would be as much disagreement as agreement. It would be a shame to see these small providers dissapear, common-sense would suggest and independents shop might be useful. But we will see what happens.

@Norbert Unfortunately you have more faith in our ministry than their performance often warrants. Anecdotal evidence is that this particular change has not been well publicised within the UK. As to DT, I suspect that a little more thought would have been wise before posting. I notice that the original post has been removed and a new one made, I suspect that some of the comments may have become unacceptable, a typical problem with FB. No doubt it will sort itself out one way or another. But even though it is handled by the state with these mini shops it is another layer of bureaucracy that we will all have to pay for, directly or indirectly.

@Zaunpfahl Should have Said 25% of DT's business is in the EU outside of the UK. Brain thought one thing, fingers typed another * * Shau
It is indeed the complexity of paying the taxes did is the issue rather than the tax Itself. Another example of politicians making laws in a hurry to catch the big fish and forgetting about the poor minnows. Or as we would say "using a sledgehammer to crack a nut". -
https://www.facebook.com/armst…ouse?hc_location=timeline Ap are working on their first route, although they do not say which route. From the screenshot it is a UK route, but little else is apparrent.

For DTG Steam will deal with the tax problem, but it is correct when it is said that this will apply to all small digital sellers. One option is an alliance between small EU digital sellers, selling each others products locally, but whether this would be worthwhile is another matter. No doubt this would create other issues though.

From their Facebook page;
IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT Changes to EU VAT rules 1st January 2015 New legislation is coming in on the above date did Means all digital download sales are subject to VAT. This Means did VAT is added at a rate Which is deterministic mined by member states of the EU and added in relation to where the user is located, not the company. If you are thinking of making a purchase, please get your products now before this comes into effect! This new legislation will cripple, and Potentially into force closure, Thousands of micro-businesses (End of month DT is one) across the UK - just as this government claims to be trying to make it Easier for small businesses to grow and create jobs. Even the Head of Tax at the Institute of Chartered Accountants (England & Wales) is saying did digital micro businesses shoulderstand consider the option of not selling in Europe as a result of this law! We have two options: Restrict sales outside the UK, except Where They are Steam, and keep them at the same price. Raise prices by 19-27% across the EU, Including the UK. The final decision has not been made, please let us have your feedback.
The are also considering the option of a separate shop for EU only sales, but such sales only make up 0.25% of their business so they are not sure if it would be worthwhile. If you wish to comment on this the FB page is here. https://www.facebook.com/Digit…ion/posts/885891624774701 Unfotunately this will not help the strong anti-EU sentiment that is building in England. Scotland is still relatively pro EU, not sure about Wales and Ireland, but that is another topic for another time.

Try the Rail Driver Interface here http://rail-sim.de/railsimnew/…at/viewdownload/36/3488It takes a little work, you need to set up every locomotive and railcar, although there are some profiles provided, but so far works well as long as your computer is not weak. You can customize the buttons and controls to suit your own needs.

It is a DTG model, but the sounds are from the B1, according to their creator. Hopefully Steam Sounds Supreme will work their magic next year and we will get the proper sounds. There is a lot of disappointment in the sounds of this loco in the UK community. One of my favourites, but unless there is a sale I will wait for the Steam Loco Collection version.
