It seems that it is possible to upload a scenario for a non steam route and train http://steamcommunity.com/shar…filedetails/?id=402156619 Somebody on UKTS is trying to ask him in German how he managed to do this. COuld have some interesting possibilities.

A lot depends on which era you wish to drive, and whether you wish to create your own scenarios. AP also make very good scenario packs at a reasonable price, but they need varying degrees of payware. If you only wish to use workshop scenarios then you are often stuck with the poorer DTG products. The AP 321 is far superior to the DTG one but if you use workshop scenarios then you will need to use RWtools. If you want to go with an AP scenario pack then choose a pack that interests you and buy the associated payware, otherwise concentrate on one route and buy the relevant traction for that route. If you want some advice on doing this, tell me the route and I will tell you the traction on that route, or alternatively look at the above mentioned scenario packs, they will also tell you the traction on the relevant routes. Having been with this sim from RS days I am lucky to have built up a very large collection. There are also some nice very cheap payware scenarios on Darren Porters site, again you need payware for these and these could be the basis for extending your collection. The Just Trains classs 153 "Skateboard" DMU is also quite nice and their Voyager is far superior to the DTG one.

For those who bought this add-on, here is where some of the money will go to. A positive thing I think you will agree.
Just wanted to say a quick but sincere Thank You to everyone who bought the RailRight/AP Class 40 in February.
We had pledged 50% of our share of the royalties from the first months sales to Cancer Research as part of our Charity Bike ride fundraiser in September.
The total donated by you through buying the 40 was £1086 putting us over halfway to our goal of £2500Thank You

Latest post from Mike Simpson
Many thanks to all who have posted Of Those. This gives me heart to carry on, maybe I am just another grumpy old man, 75 this year, so I sometimes let things get on top of me.To answer a few points, of despite of what users here May Think, the UK is not my biggest customer, I get far more donations from Germany (Although it must be Admitted for the minimum amount in many cases). On the other hand, downloads from China are about the same as all other countries combined, but I have seldom had a donation from the Chinese mainland as PayPal does not Appear to be available to private citizens there.I have been using PayPal for about 8 years and have never had a single problem with them. It is far safer than sending your credit card number out to everyone you are purchasing things from. Even if you have set up a PayPal account, They are the only one who sees your credit card or banking a / c number. Better than sending it to everyone you wish to buy something from.Mike -
Just to clarify, the comment about lowlifes was mine and referred to the hackers, even if they see hacking as a challenge it is no excuse to make it publicly available.

@ 'Bahnjan' here you go. http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=361&t=141155 no further post from Mike so far, but plenty from concerned users.

It seems that some people really are cheapskates, although in this case they may have got what they deserve.
From a post by Mike Simpson on UKTS;
I am seriously considering ceasing all work on RW_Tools and removing it from circulation.I have found that there is a crack for my program on the web (to be expected), but when I saw that over 170,000 attempts had been made to download it, as compared to the 10,000 or so who were willing to donate a minimum of $2 (or 1 quid), I got really p....d off...As downloading the crack in question does load malware on the downloaders PC, maybe I should not have said anything, but now I know why there is so little 3rd party rolling stock for TS2015, no one wants to pay anything for it.MikeYet again it seems that a small minority of lowlifes could potentially ruin things for the majority.

Armstrong Powerhouse have travelled to Boness museum line to record sounds from the preserved class 303. So it would seem that some proper sounds will be coming soon for this unit. https://www.facebook.com/armstrongpowerhouse?fref=nf

There are locos with advanced features on Steam from Victory Works, Meshtools and Thomson, and more will come. I did suspect some will come from JT Probably not from DTG Themselves. I doubt if JT wants to let standards drop with Their Their Own add-ons. Of course if DTG commission them to do something then they will work to DTG standards. I should also say that Isle of Wight and the original class 66 came from Just Trains, so collaboration is not new.

Yes DT did say that they would be looking to sell more items on Steam, But They Said so thatthey would not sell everything through Steam. Problem is Steam and DTG did take a cut of the earnings, so the independents earn much less through steam. Sometimes less than the cost of development. DTG Could help by Minimizing Their charges, but then you are in the area of commercial Decisions and balancing the losses and gains from seeking a decision. In modern times thesis short term thinking oft Seems to prevail. But it is true thatthere will have already completed JT products sold on Steam. I did think the difference is between products did Offered are complete by a third party and Those developed for DTG. JT will continue to offer fully developed products I would presume. Updates are another thing, time will tell if DTG manage to improve this. If They Do not get this right then I think it will cause them more problems in the future.

The Lincolnshire lines has recieved a new update, and another one adding a new branch line should be coming soon.

A massive update to this, hopefully I will upload a this to this site with a German read-me in the forthcoming week. For those confident in their English you can use the link below if you don't wish to wait for this.
Quote from UKTS post
This is a major update to automate the extraction of all data and editing of all the engine script files with the press of one button.Changes made:-
Data Extractor & Engine Script Editor (Replaced)
1. Now combined into one program (Railworks Editor) that automates the process so that the clicking of one button will
1. unzip all AP files
2. Extract the engine.bin and Inputmapper data
3. Extract the locations of the engine scripts to edit and edit the scripts
4. There is also the option to select a single asset to extract
5. There is no longer a need to install 7zip
See the Railworks Editor Readme.pdf inside the Railworks Editor folder for instructions on using the new softwareTS2015 Raildriver Interface
1. Added extra controls names (these will be placed in a text file for easy editing in the next release so you can add them yourself without having to wait for a new release)
2. When you assign a button in the Edit Keymap, if the button is already assigned then that assignment is removed to stop one key sending more than one command.
3. Moved supplied 'keymaps' to 'keyMaps_Supplied' folder and only copy them to keymaps folder if the keymaps folder does not exist as in first time use. This stops your keymaps being overwritten when you update to a newer version.
4. Set the culture to InvariantCulture which should fix the problem of non english languages having to change their decimal symbol from comma to full stop. As yet untested.Railworks_Getdata_Script.lua
1. Added extra control names
2. You can now use the keyboard or Raildriver levers at the same time
3. Updated script to only send changed values rather than values all the time. Speeds up execution.Calculator Notch Values
1. Extended the Max/Min ranges so values less than -1 and greater than 1 can be input.
2. Added button to copy values to clipboard for pasting into TS2015 Raildriver Interface.Engine_Script_Location.pdf/xls
1. Removed as no longer neededTS2015 Interface Readme.pdf/doc
1. Updated to reflect changes in data extraction.
2. Added quick setup section. Please note that if you are upgrading from a previous version, you need to copy the new Railworks_Getdata_Script to your plugins folder and overwrite the old one.
You can also copy all the files and folders from the enclosed TS 2015 Raildriver Interface folder into your current folder. Doing so will keep all your current keymaps and setting.txt files intact.
You can also delete the Engine Script Editor V1.01 and TS2015 Data Extractor V1.02 as these have been replaced with the Railworks Editor.
Finally just replace the CalculateNotchValues with the current one.The software can be downloaded from http://www.trainsimdev.com/for…php?view=detail&df_id=124. I have uploaded to UKTS also but am awaiting its approval.

New lok under development USATC S160 Class http://victoryworksts.blogspot…ild-usatc-s160-class.html

There have been some graphical updates since release, primarily due to compatibility issues with later versions of TS. Not the most interesting stretch of track, no. But there are a lot of scenarios available for it. It would have been much more interesting if it had been backdated 20 or 30 years.
-
They are not not tool boxes, the ones that vary contain compressors and/or exhausters and other brake gear. They vary according to the type of brakes fitted to the Lok and the time they were fitted. DTG seem to be as well informed as ever
