    A compact version of the North Clyde Lines is now available on the workshop. This version has no track south of Carstairs which solve the crashes a lot of people were experiencing from the latest full version. Authirs post fom UKTS below;

    Howdy, I've practically been living inside RWTools the last few weeks, and after going through the route and filling in a lot of gaps, I now have a complete version of the route that's fully available on the Workshop...

    There are still a few bits and pieces I want to do, like creating more extensive Quick Drive scenarios (I just have a basic one there at the moment which is all routes via Mount Florida) and updating my website a bit more, but for the people who were unable to run the more detailed version, I'm hoping this will at least allow them to run something.

    The additional detail has not been lost though - the detail pack is still available and when combined with the Workshop route, will continue to be the primary version of the route.

    So:

    1) For people who cannot (or prefer not to) run the entire thing, use the Workshop-only route (without nameboards, custom buildings etc)
    2) Everyone else download the Workshop-only route and then install the detail pack (an RWP file) on top of it. Be sure to unsubscribe from the Workshop route first or else it'll overwrite the detail pack!

    Note that at the moment, the scope of the route hasn't changed, so if it's working for you at the moment, best leave it as it is until Phase 5!

    Detail Pack: http://www.suburban-glasgow.org.uk/home/detail-pack/

    From another post;

    "If you're missing a single one of the dependencies then no Workshop item will download and install; it'll be downloaded (as you've found) which does allow you to finish the installation manually."

    Interesting... I think that might explain quite a few folks issues actually!

    The prerequisites are:

    WCMLNorth - won't work without it
    Edinburgh to Glasgow - looks really bad without it
    WCML Over Shap - can probably get away with not having it, but some parts will probably look poor
    London Faversham High Speed - will look awful without it (especially the Argyle line!)

    The Workshop seems to think Isle of Wight and Port Road are required too - not sure why that is as they're not. (I actually don't own either of them!)

    @The Bam There are likely to be 2 versions of the S stock as JT have now asked on Facebook for any S stock operators to contact them. So it would seem that they intend to make their model drive-able. Facebook is the main source for information from JT. The route is speculation at the moment, there was word that they were going to make the Marylebone - Aylesbury route, if so the Metropolitan line runs parallel for much of the journey. It wouldn't take too much effort to include it from Baker Street to Amersham, as most of it will need to be modelled anyway.
    For news and screenshots from the Virtual District team, their forum is here http://lur.boards.net/

    They have S stock under construction, I had posted about this in the British Thread a week or two ago. It can be difficult to get everything to work correctly, but it is very worthwhile. The route will be extended to Wimbledon first, probably it will take until the end of the year. There are many new assets to make for this. |There are no plans for other routes at the moment, but JT have an Underground route under construction at the moment, possibly the metropolitan from Baker Street, but so far they have only shown a screenshot of an LT signal.

    If you look in my British thread here The British thread (english language / Englisch Kenntnisse erforderlich) there are also some good freeware routes available as well.
    Have a look in the UKTS thread here for information about the engines used on the route http://forums.uktrainsim.com/v…1&t=147472&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

    I think maybe 40-50 miles of main lines, and many many freight sidings. Every colliery has it's own sidings, as will every station. It is a bit like the North London Lines in the country, lots of heavy slow freight trains with fast and slow passenger trains. Speed with the freight trains will be low on the many gradients, and if done well it will be a very challenging route to drive. With so many sidings and a need for wagons to fill them the line can't be too long

    The 38 stock is not just a repaint, a new vehicle has been added, a motor second to give prototypical formations. Also the front of the cab has been modified. They were used on the deep tube on the Northern, Bakerloo, and Picaddilly lines that I remember. All of these lines come to the surface and run above ground away from the city centre. Part of the Picadilly line runs alongside the District Line as modelled in the new freeware route. The northern end of the Bakerloo line originally ran over the DC lines from Queens Park to Watford Junction. From first reports the sounds are as usual for DTG not wonderful on the 20 and 38 stock.

    London Transport’s finest comes to Train Simulator with the London Transport Heritage Pack, featuring classic capital traction for you to enjoy. £11.99 http://store.steampowered.com/…port_Heritage_Collection/
    1938 Tube Stock
    As their name suggests, the 1938 Stock was first introduced on deep-level ‘Tube’ lines shortly before the start of the Second World War. In particular, the Metro-Cammell-built 1938 Stock spent their first 50 years on the Bakerloo, Northern, Piccadilly, Central Lines and even the sub-surface East London Line. After ending their time with London’s railways in 1988, many units of the 1938 Stock were sent for scrap, a few carriages survived into preservation, however some were sold to Network SouthEast for service on the Isle of Wight.
    Surprisingly, the ex-1938 Stock of the Isle of Wight, now classified as the BR Class 483, is still shuttling between Ryde and Shanklin to this day, making them the oldest passenger rolling stock still in service in the UK – pushing on for 80 years old!In Train Simulator, the 1938 Stock is represented in Northern Line condition, complete with period destination boards and advertising. Driving the Tube Stock is most bespoke, and your time in the classically fitted driving cab will be a challenging yet rewarding experience as you run heritage services.
    GWR 5700 Class
    It’s no secret that the GWR loved their tank engines, what can be said, they were highly useful in many roles, but perhaps none more so than the 5700 Class. Known today as the ‘Pannier Tank’, GWR’s 5700 Class stood tall as an 863-strong fleet of locomotives that could cope with light goods, shunting, passenger, branch and even mainline use.
    Their reputation and abundance meant they were a popular contender for smaller companies after the general end of steam, and London Transport put a handful to use on engineer’s trains right up to the early 1970s.The Pannier Tank is represented authentically in the London Transport Heritage Collection, sporting the pristine maroon and gold livery as applied to a select few examples of the remaining locomotives. While a couple of the engines await restoration in real life, London Transport’s Panniers will be raring to steam in Train Simulator, with lucky passengers in-tow as you manage the pressure on the historical run.
    BR Class 20
    As the era of steam ended, the British railway network was in need on an entirely new generation of motive power. English Electric would be the starting gun for the country’s early diesels, and one of their pioneering designs, the Type 1, was built as a mixed-goods locomotive that could replace a large sum of not only steam traction, but also other early diesels which were proven unreliable. In recent years, the remaining Type 1 fleet, or as it was re-classified, the Class 20, is usually found on engineering trains, or of course passenger excursions.For the London Transport Heritage Collection, BR Class 20 No. 20142 is featured in her newly applied maroon and gold livery, as the 20s are well known for engineering operations across London Underground lines and taking part in special celebrations. The 20s are nicknamed by enthusiasts as ‘Choppers’, owing to their distinctive helicopter-like sound when running under load, mow’s the time to put them through their paces and chop up the landscape while performing a beat.
