    I am not at home, but I have purchased it, I think it will be worth the money for the Warship alone, and comments indicate that the dirty versions of the Western and Hymek are very well done. I will know for sure in about 4 hours ;) . What you get is;
Very nicely finished with some very nice dirty loks. Usual DTG physics, sounds better than the average DTG, but not AP standard. There will be community and no doubt AP enhancement packs for these.

    Key Features
The Western Hydraulic Pack for Train Simulator features the BR Class 35 ‘Hymek’, BR Class 42 ‘Warship’ and BR Class 52 ‘Western’ respectively and a selection of Mk1 coaches.
BR Class 35 ‘Hymek’ Has opening doors and windows.

    • The Hymek is available in both BR Green and BR Blue liveries, featuring clean, weathered and heavily weathered variants.
    • Represented as they were in the 1960s, all examples will be included from D7000 to D7100, with the ‘D’ prefix appropriately dropped for the BR Blue livery.

BR Class 42 ‘Warship’ Has opening doors and windows, well modelled cab and exterior.

    • The Warship is available in BR Green, BR Maroon and BR Blue liveries
    • Represented as they were in the 1960s, all examples are included from D800 to D832, and D866 to D870, with the ‘D’ prefix appropriately dropped for the BR Blue livery.

BR Class 52 ‘Western’ Appears to have opening windows on the inside only.

    • The Western is available in BR Desert Sand, BR Maroon and BR Blue liveries, featuring clean, weathered and heavily weathered variants.
    • Represented as they were in the 1960s, all examples will be included from D1000 to D1073, with the ‘D’ prefix appropriately dropped for the BR Blue livery.

    Mk1 Coaches

    • Tourist Second, Brake First, Brake Second, First Corridor, Second Corridor, Mini Buffet and Guard Mk1 coaches will be included, resplendent in both BR Maroon and BR Blue liveries.
    • Three challenging career scenarios for the Riviera Line in the Fifties: Exeter - Kingswear Route Add-On
    • Quick Drive compatible
    • Download Size: 364.8 MB

Regarding the starting process for trains, for HST and multiple units with a Conductor/Guard/Train Manager. The Driver does not look out the window normally, the station staff if present indicate to the guard that the doors may be closed/locked, then that all doors are closed locked and the train may depart. The Conductor/Guard/Train Manager then gives the right away to the driver in the form of two bells or electronic beeps, who checks the signals and departs. In some stations you will also see an indicator with RA on the departure signals and along the platforms themselves, when lit, they indicate to the driver that all is in order and he may depart. They will not light unless the departure signal shows proceed. You may also see indicators with the word OFF, when lit they indicate that the departure signal is showing proceed. We would say the signal is off if it is clear, on if it shows stop. This method was also used for the Scottish Push-Pull sets in the 80's with the 47/7's and 27's, the Push pull sets on the West Coast and East Anglia with the class 90's, and the Class 86's with push-pull trains in East Anglia. On loco hauled trains where there is no communication system, or it has failed, then the driver will look out and exchange visual signals with the Guard/Station staff. The Conductor/Guard/Train Manager where provided is legally responsible for observing the platform during departure, on many trains the driver will also look back if possible, but it is only his responsibility when no guard is present, both are responsible for observing that departure signals are showing a proceed aspect.
Regarding Western Express, to me the HST and 166 look very artificial inside and out from the pictures shown so far. I would also say that it is very obvious that money is an issue for DTG, they need to keep a lot of it coming in to keep themselves afloat.

Optically they are superior to IHH, and even DTG's poor sounds are superior to those of IHH. Plus I suspect they will be friendlier to your frame-rate, I found many IHH models to be PC killers, and of course AP will be allowed to produce sound packs for this . It should also result in many new scenarios.

    Now updated again to work with DTG update;

    Class 150/1 Enhancement Pack Update:
Today, Dovetail Games released an update to their Class 150/1 and we have updated our enhancement pack accordingly to ensure it's still compatible. It also takes advantages of new features that have been added by Dovetail Games to the original pack:
    - Functioning master key
    - All liveries bar FGW reference new grey variation of cab & passenger view
To obtain this update, simply re-download both the main enhancement pack and extra stock.

I have just uploaded this to the download section on behalf of Cobra one, this should become available shortly.

TS2017 Raildriver and Joystick Interface V2.0.4

I have now released the next incarnation of the Raildriver interface that has been renamed again to fully show the programs potential
    What can it do?
I have decided to extend its capabilities to not only allow more than one Raildriver controller to be used but to also allow a joystick to be used either instead of or alongside the Raildriver controller. This means that you can now control more of the levers and valves in a loco using a joystick/Raildriver lever rather than a button. The controls you can use with a lever are:-
Reverser, Throttle, Throttle And Brake, Dynamic Brake, Train Brake, Loco Brake, Wiper, Lights, Blower, Cruise Control, CylinderCock, Dampers, Exhaust Injector Steam, Exhaust Injector Water, Firebox Door, Gears, Large Ejector, Live Injector Steam, Live Injector Water, Small Ejector and Stoking.

If you are going to use a joystick then it is best if the joystick has either levers such as those used on a flight simulator throttle quadrant or rotary knobs as used on Hands On Throttle And Stick joysticks such as the Saitek X55/56. You can use joysticks/gamepads that self-centre so long as they have analogue sticks and are assigned to cab levers that also self-centre such as the brakes on a class 66 diesel loco. I have tried this with a USB Gamepad using both sticks for the train brake and loco brake and I get much finer and more realistic control.

You can also make your own Cab if you can do some simple soldering, the manual shows you what you need hardware wise, you can build an 8 axis controller for around £45 - £50.

For those of you using the Raildriver and the previous version I have added the following:
    1. If you are driving a loco and switch back to my program you can hover the mouse over the "Current Loco" label and get the full path to the loco (as requested by Crrispy)
    2. While driving, when you change the AFB, Cruise Control or Gears, the changes will be displayed on the Raildriver display for 2 seconds. If you have more than one Raildriver then these changes will be displayed on the second Raildriver.
    3. I have also created the following macros to display the current values again for 2 seconds when you assign the macros to buttons. They are “Raildriver Display AFB”, “Raildriver Display Cruise Control” (both do the same so you don’t have to assign both) and “Raildriver Display Gears”.

As this program has changed quite significantly from TS2017 Raildriver Interface V1.0.9, they are no longer compatible with each other and users of the previous version will need to treat this as a completely separate program.
I have updated the 17 page manual which I hope should explain all.
