I wonder if they will take a section of the freeware route, update it with some new assets, and then a freeware expansion of that will continue. Time will tell.

The freeware version has been withdrawn, supposedly temporarily. Whether it has anything to do with this announcement is unknown at the moment.

I'm glad I went for the Roco Z21, £224 at the time I think, and it does everything I need it to. I can use two Rocomouse, my tablets, or my phone to control my trains. To me Maerklin is extremely expensive for what it is, but I can understand that some people feel an attachment to it. AC 3 rail is rare in the uk, DC is the norm. But I do have a handful of Trix loks and I think 3 Hamo. I even have one Trix Delta lok that I am trying to work out the best way to fit a modern DCC chip to. If you are not attached to the Maerklin models I would say sell them and make a start in DCC instead. There are some beautiful models available now and DCC is much cheaper.

I personally work only with standard scenarios.

It was only a statement in answer to those having problems with the route. I don't use either Career or QD normally, but as the only scenarios provided are career scenarios I was using one to look at the route. I can live with F2 the few times I would use them. But it also says that something must have been changed with the tracks. Bin after the scenarios were created.

One of the BR151 scenarios has the same error as well.

Route loads for me, it complains it can't load the tracks bin, but it works with F2.

Better would be a way of switching between new and old dispatchers so that old scenarios still work, even if it had to be done before/when starting the game.

aleister I had the fire bells, I think they are scripted, but no red signal. We used to use rolled up paper to silence the fire bells when the engine was working hard , I missed that paper very much in this scenario

Route Description

Forming part of the Fen Line this route depicts the picturesque lines between Cambridge and Peterborough in 2018, encompassing stations such as Cambridge North, Waterbeach, Ely, Manea, March and Whittlesea and freight yards at Ely, Ely Papworth and Whitemoor.

The line sees a vast array of workings from Colas 37s test trains, LNER diverts alongside the bread and butter working of CrossCountry 170s and Greater Anglia DMUs. The lines around East Anglia are notably flat and thus this line has an abundance of different level crossings; from out of use examples at Ely, to modern Unipart Rail examples.

We’re also extremely proud to bring you the debut of Cambridge station in Train Simulator with a fantastic model depicting the feel of this bustling commuter hub. The route shows the wonderful contrast along this line from the modern electrified commuter runs at Cambridge and Peterborough, the serene ‘old worldy’ feel of Manea and it’s semaphore signaling, to the bustling freight workings around March and Whitemoor.

Level Crossings

Created by our very own Jake Fuller, included with this route is a plethora of modern level crossings and their associated parts. Ranging from AHBs (Automatic Half Barriers) and AOCLs (Automatic Open Crossing – Locally Monitored) to Full Barrier CCTV – MCB (Manually Controlled Barriers). Modern LED and the older Halogen Wig Wags are featured with a range of barrier types such as the more common “SPX” Variants as well as more modern styles, notably the Siemens “S60” (which is based on a more continental design). The pack also includes many Level Crossing related assets such as Road Signage, Cameras, Fences and Huts.

A staggering amount of work has gone into this route, and we give thanks to all of those involved.

The refurbished class 37 can pull a much heavier load than the un-refurbished one. This may well be your problem, they have different physics, in real life the control system was upgraded and their DC generator replaced with an alternator when they were refurbished. I have driven both in real life and they are very different beasts.

There has been a freeware version for many years. It was good for it's time. Nice that we are getting a new version now.

West Coast South is being worked upon because there was a shitstorm on both the DTG forums and Facebook. Something similar happened with Donner Pass many moons ago. Unfortunately they only seem to react to bad publicity in English. I suspect because most of their customers speak English, even if it is not their mother tongue. Not how it should be, every customer should count equally, but it has been a very long time since that was true.

F2 still works for me

Probably it has a different name in the bin file to the BR185. If you have RWtools and are confident, you could look in the bin file of the Taurus for the name of the control used.
