Very interesting. I always thought that distance was hardcoded in the core engine. Thanks for mentioning this. Is it a global setting for all ai trains in a scenario, or can it be done for each category of trains?

More experimenting today. No matter how much i modify this file it simply does not change anything. Should be noted that this is the steam version. Not sure if it makes any difference.
Maybe @Maik Goltz coded it so it could not be altered, or that this is not the real file after all.

EDIT: I am pretty sure that this file is not the right one. I just tried removing it, and all the camerapositions still works. That file simply seems to do nothing.

Yes. But while i can modify cab views successfully for all other loks i’ve tried, nothing happens when i edit that file. It is a mystery why.

I’ve done it with other locos. They have a folder called cabview. The Vr lok does not have that.

I found something inside the cabsimsaudio folder that looked like the right but no matter what i modify in that filr nothing happens.

So i must have done something wrong.

Important info regarding the SFM Torino REAL DRIVES.
It has come to my attention that there is an error with the REAL DRIVES for the SFM Torino Asti branch. This error causes the drives to have no AI traffic and because of that they do not work as expected. A corrected version will be made public within the next days, and i ask everyone who downloaded the old version to install the new when it becomes available.

You can’t just change the path of rw.exe without your system losing track of which apps are assigned to which graphic cards.

What is the difference between the 1,07plus version and the 1,1 version?

I am thinking it is about time i experiment with some Real Drives for the Rodachtalbahn.

Does it have SCMT? (The Italian zug sicherung).

Without that, to me, there is no reason to get an FS engine.

i often use it. But for this train it would not be the correct display. And as much as i like ts-mfd the way that it lags, specially making AFB adjustments difficult, is a little annoying.

Driving like this, with the display on another screen is a whole different experience. You connect much more with the scenery. Before anyone says it is not a nice way of driving i say: you should try it. It is wonderful. Get yourself a little screen for the führerraumdisplay and have it beneath your main screen. To me, very much more realistic experience. Much more screen estate for the world and focussing on two things. The instruments you navigate by and the world you are driving in.

@linusf if i can do this with ts-mfd and a vr101 then ofcourse it’s possible. The display might have to be an extra application that fetches the display values, i don’t know, but certainly possible.

One thing that would be incredibly cool in my opinion, would be to have a führerstandmitfahrt mode. This would display the the führerraumdisplay on one screen and on the second screen would be the “führerstandmitfahrt” view. Meaning like you just set up a gopro camera close to the front window. Just like most führestandmitfahrten.

For people with two screens this would be an incredibly immersive experience. I know we have ts-mfd butthat requires setting up lococonfigurations and it lags.

A unique feature like that would swing me towards buying this train.

For a DTG route the wiedererkennungswert is really good. One of their best in that regard in my oppinion.

just broke my record. The REAL DRIVE Torino - Modane has 264144 possible variations.

Meaning there are 265144 possible combinations if places where you can meet a red signal. That’s over a freakin’ quarter million permutations. Real randomisation at play.
