@Matthias J.
The reason for the backup is not the content but to keep ts 2018 so you can play that if ts 2019 has some showstopping bugs.

Don’t forget to backup! That included the ts2018 exe.

Coming from the world of audio i must say that i always knew that TS ccould be made into 64 bit without content having to be coded anew. Content is no different from audio and midi files. It is what the core program that determines how much content that can be put into the “session”. All those programs have gone from 16bit to 32bit and to 64bit without any content being unusable.
If people chose to believe “it can not be done” just because a program developer would rather not do it (and not tell the truth about it) then it has been a case of naivity. Sorry, aber das ist die Warheit.
It is good that DTG had a change of mind, but not good that they chose to be less than truthful about if it could be done. It can be done and they have ofcourse known it all along.

1; I think TS and TSW can co excist without problems. The are for different audiences mostly.
2; yes some of the temp dumps will go away with the 64bit version. But they happen for other reasons than just ram being maxed out. So we might still get temp dumps. Just not as often.

As long as they do not break any functions i will be happy.

As a musician with much midi gear i must definately try this.

What version is the Steam version?
-
Great. Two lines i have yet to buy are coming to steam.

It is a bug in the TS code. Nothing you can do. I’ve encountered it many times when making real drives. Things that shouldn’t matter (like your problem here) can crash TS when they shouldn’t. Annoying. And hopefully one of the bugs that are fixed in TS 19.

@Thaddäus what is this freeware track upgrade you speak of? I am still very new to ts and everything to do with enhancing routes.
-
Does the scenarios that came with the original route still work with this upgrade?
-
Great. That means a can do a couple of REAL DRIVES for the route. You might even want to include them in the initial release (if so pm me)

@bahnjan
Will there be train consists in the blueprint folder? -
I am not into french routes. But it is good to know that new stuff is being developed for ts19. It shows that they haven’t abandoned the ts platform.

An interesting idea to use the workshop for that. I wonder if more joined routes will be made that way. Perhaps all routes starting in München.

The small update that will prepare ts18 for the big update is out now.

Looking forward to see what the bug fixes are.
