Strange visual difference between borderless and fullscreen.

  • Hi there. I want to record some overlays in my TSC videos, and this is only possible in borderless mode (or at least this is true for nvidia shadowplay). But when i switch to borderless it looks different to fullscreen. Borderless is more bright, and it looks like the fxaa settings are lower.

As a curiosity, i have some routes that crash to OOM error in in borderless, but not in full screen mode.

It’s almost as if fullscreen uses the nvidia graphics, while borderless do not. I know that might not be true, but it feels like it. I know for sure tsc runs from the nvidia card in fullscreen mode as i am able to run full anisotropic and full fxaa settings and still have good fps. TSC is also set to use the nvidia card in the graphics settings.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

EDIT: Never mind. I’ve bought a capture card instead. Problem solved.

  • Fullscreen is a hardware layer to display

Borderless has to use full Windows functionalities because of the enbeddedment into the desktop.

  • I always play in fullscreen mode and shadowplay works fine. I don't know why it doesn't work for you. When you are in fullscreen mode, can you access shadowplay with Alt+Z?
