  • I am building real drives for Seddin Freight and i have a problem getting a regional train to spawn.
Could i ask one of you scenario builders to test something for me?
Make a new QuickDrive. Put an ai spawn in there somewhere. Set Regional to 1000.
    Can you make it spawn?

  • @StS
I am using the preloads that came with route. I haven’t made any changes in any of my preloads. I am asking because i can see that some spawnpoints in the quick drives are set to spawn regional trains but they never spawn.

So i would like to find out if it is
1; an error on my system
2; broken consist in the route
3; on purpose from the route builders

  • Why don't you check the preloads of the route for "eConsistTypePassengerRegional" ?

Until then there is no need to search your system for errors... or broken consists... or the route builder's purposes or... or.... or...

It is because i simply am too stupid. I just cant work my way around the blueprint editor or rwtools for that matter, and my German is still not quite good enough to fully understand the wiki. I have tried the Danish community but no-one knows how to check these things. Not a single person in the Danish TS community even knows why the blueprints are there and how they are connected to Ki traffic in quickdrives.

I ask because i am trying to do the best Real Drives possible. Something that many users here benefit from. No one else does quick drives like these and i could keep them private but i have chosen to share them with the community, just like all the other wonderful creative rail-sim.de users who share their work. But if my questions are too dumb i will just keep them to myself to be honest. I am still new to TS (bought it in june) and in Denmark we have a saying: you do not get wiser if you do not ask.
So maybe instead of saying “why don’t i check” you could tell me precisely how to check?

(I get the feeling i am being attacked for asking, it is not a very nice feeling to have to be honest, i hope i misunderstood the intent of your response though. Maybe i am just having a bad day.....)

  • Allright then...

In your railworks-folder is a tool named "serz.exe".
To convert a file from ".xml" to ".bin" (and vice versa) you can drag and drop the specific file onto the serz.exe.
The serz.exe will then create a (new) file of the opposite file type (either XML or BIN).
If you convert a ".bin" file from your preload folder, you should get a ".xml" file in the same folder, which can be loaded into any text editor.

In case of the preloads it should look like this:

At the very end of the XML you will find the definitions for the targetted route GUIDs and the "ConsistType".
Any change of the XML will be ignored while playing, you will have to convert it back to BIN first (this applies to all BIN files in the Asset folder).
So you can analyze (and edit) existing BIN files.

If you ask more precisously, I am sure we can help you further.

  • Most people do the same with RWTools, but since I do not use it except for swapping some rolling stock in scenarios I cannot tell you something about it regarding the editing/viewing of BIN files.
