Trainz is more for amateur.
TS is absolutely commercial and with Microsoft's cooperation, the situation will get worse. 
Remember that, when giants like Microsoft or EA come into a company (usually with a lot of money), at the end it is they who command.

Microsoft announced that (almost) all Xbone games will also come to PC together with their Xbone release and tieing Windows 10 even more together with the Xbox it's more than likely to see a parallel release.

Why not on E3 Microsoft announced the cross-platform "play anywhere" XboxOne to windows 10.
A parallel release is possible.
