    Hi,

I also realise it is illogical as your blueprint is only about the exterior. But try it out yourself - upgrade to the latest Taurus release and then try pressing b or n, the horn gets stuck. With WLB repaint no such thing happens. And when I think about it, it does make certain sense because before the latest update in mid September the horn was using a switch that did not return to neutral when used. So it is like your repaint shows pre-update behaviour...

As for adding any sounds..what sounds do you have in mind? Sounds are part of the main package, why should any sound be included in a reskin?

Thank you very much for all your efforts!

Hmm... I just copy the geopcdx file over from the WLB folder at the users end so this is really weird... Let me look into this too..

I know the file is copied by user after the installation; however I remember that when the geopcdx file was changed once (back in 2012), many reskins started to show strange behaviour, like the headlight switches inside the cab did not do what they were supposed to do etc. So although I have no idea about reskinning and why it is so it seems that it is important to create the reskin while having the latest geopcdx file...

You could also consider using the reskin blueprint way as suggested by HRQ blog in June (please check their article on this there). From what I understood if one uses the reskin blueprint, your repaint is not impacted by changes to the geopcdx file.

    Thank you! Thank you!
I agree, I also noticed that.. I will change it and share an update :)
    ...
Any other things that need tweaking?

    Great!

Actually I found yet another bug: if you press "b" or "n" for high or low tone horn or use the switch directly in the cab using mouse, the switch does not return to the center position and therefore the horn does not stop sounding after you release the key, you must return it to neutral manually. I first thought it was a problem with the Taurus overall after the TS2014 update, but I just tested it in a free roam scenario: all reskins are OK including the WLB 3-panto one that you use as a base, but both MRCE repaints have this issue. You must use the latest HRQ Taurus update where the new horn system was implemented to see it.

Probably the problem may be that you did not create the reskins with the latest version of the Taurus package...?

    Hello,

first let me tell you your repaints are excellent, especially the weathered ones, thank you very much for them. However, one remark: it is actually a thing that applies to the MRCE repaint as well... don't you think that the two parts that hold the "handle" in the very front are too bright white? Wouldn't a more grayish look be more appropriate? Screenshot to show this attached.

Yes, it was done by Taurus0815, the latest version 1.1 contained my new cooling sound that can be downloaded somewhere above in this thread...

However, the package cannot be found in the downloads section anymore... I did download it myself, but other people would like to get it too...

    Great, all settled then!

No worries, I did not mean it when I complained you had not asked. No problem at all, it is your sound anyway. ;)

BTW, hat off, I was going through many taurus videos and yours had the best sound quality by far.

If you could take more samples from inside the cab as well as new ones from outside on your Sept 20 journey with the same quality, would be fantastic! What a shame HRQ cannot make separate internal / external sounds!

All the best and thanks again!

I hope it is your own video or you have been granted permission to use that sound.

    Hi,

it is not. Rest assured I fully realized this was not clean, however I simply do not think anyone should have a problem with taking several second sample from a video recorded in public that is then run via some filters, changed to mono and mixed with another sound.

Moreover at first I never intended to spread the sound (not to mention sell!), I first wanted to test it myself and then (being unsure if the result was OK) I asked people here what they thought.

On the contrary, I am not a lawyer, but I agree this is not 100% OK of course. Funny part is that while I searched for the original video to make an attempt to contact the owner I discovered the author was most probably a well-known forum member Taurus0815 who already (without asking me!!! ... just kidding, I feel honoured, naturally ;) ) integrated my sound into his sound update downloadable here.

Taurus0815, is it yours? If so, are you OK with what I did? The video is here.

And another question - would you have some other samples I could try?

    Thanks a lot.

    Gentlemen,

as you can probably see somewhere above in this thread, I have always been quite dissatisfied with the basic cooling sound of the Taurus (the one implemented back in May). I extracted a completely new sound sound from a Taurus video and mixed it with the startup and shutdown sequences from the HRQ file with some further polishing. I was not very satisfied with the result as - although it sounded quite alright in the sound editor - it had its flaws when played directly in the simulator.

However after testing the sound for quite some time I finally think it may not be that bad and this sound certainly lacks the "aggressiveness" of the HRQ one. I attach it here, if you have a chance to test it out and post your opinion here, that would be great. To install, just overwrite (and backup first!) the cool.dav file in Assets\HRQ\Taurus\Audio.

    Thanks!

P.S. Due to limited file size uploadable here I downsampled the file to 22khz, if you'd be interested in the 44khz version, please let me know. However I do not believe there's a huge difference in quality between the two.

Just wondering...is there a route map that would include all the stations along? I know there is a list of all stations with speed limits in the manual, but would be nice to have them in a map form as well.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hello Stefan,

after seeing most of the route I have to repeat what many comments above already say: it's a great job, thank you very much!

I have three questions though if I may:

    1. I don't seem to get the usual echo effect in any of the tunnels. Is the problem on my end somewhere or this effect was simply not implemented?

    2. Would you please consider releasing the extra BR111 scenarios in English as well?

    3. I have read somewhere (perhaps here in the forums) that you spent some time in cab rides along the route. In case you have any videos from them (I guess you do) would you consider making them available? I'd love to see how the real route looks.

    Thank you very much!

I had the same problem with the alternative scenarios as someone above - E189 failed to load issue. RW Tools reported the missing asset was:

    c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\astauder\Addon\railvehicles\electric\es64f4\e189_065-6

The pdf file inside the scenario package apparently does not list one more add-on needed...the BR189 repaints that can be found here:

    http://rail-sim.de/railsimnew/…siemens-es-64-f4-repaints

    Hello Stefan,

thanks a lot for the info and everything, so much looking forward to this one.

Would you consider releasing your extra scenarios in EN as well? Or is there anyone here on rail-sim.de able to translate please?

If not, I'll probably play them in German... extra scenarios with BR218, BR111 and Taurus sounds amazing, the best German railway add-ons all together!

:P Of course I did. One small FB note is far from an official announcement to me, but rest assured if the route is released in a couple of days you can hardly find a happier man ;)

I just can't believe JT would not hype up such a big release well before the release date...so much different from RSC...

    Hello gentlemen,

so do I get it right the 3CC route could be released this week? Rather strange JustTrains didn't make any official announcement yet... doesn't look like this week's release to me :(

I would like to know as soon as possible what one can expect so that I can make my Tauri ready ;)

    Hello,

this is a reaction to the post by onetime above. I presume that you are fopix, the BR218 package developer.

First off, thank you very much for your reply.

Secondly, no offense is meant absolutely, but it is sometimes hard to understand what you're trying to say. If I got it all right the following sums up your post:

    - you do not see any major bugs in the BR218 package at this time
I beg to differ, keyboard control bugs are rather serious to me and I would be dissatisfied with the package for sure if the community would not come up with a fix.

    - you consider finishing PZB implementation as a new feature rather than a breakfix
While I may partially agree with that and I admit your product description says "PZB open beta", in my humble opinion the description would be more precise if it would state "open beta, Zugart O only". People would know exactly what to expect. Honestly if you do not intend to expand PZB in BR218 I would be willing to pay a small fee for the extension. It is still better to pay, say, 5 Euro and have full PZB than have (in my view) an unfinished product. I think I would not be the only one to accept this, so if you can please consider it.

    - you do not want to publish / work on any udpates until TS2014 is released
Rather disappointing approach, but I can understand that.

    - you are not willing / not able to respond to all end user input
Again, I understand and this is your choice; it is probably a bit of my problem that I am used to receive a reply within several days from other developers (like JustTrains, vR, AP or HRQ), in many cases with a great advice or even a fix.

However, it is at least good to know the product's development even when stopped at the moment (or this is my understanding), will certainly continue and we can expect updates after TS2014 is out. Thanks for that.
