CLASS 158/159 (CUMMINS) ENHANCEMENT PACK UPDATE
To help complete the scene on the modern day Portsmouth Direct, South Western Railway branded versions of the two latest South West Trains liveries are now featured.

Ap have updated a great number of their add-ons to chang the sound fading to the default system as that has now been updated to provide a better sound than AP's system. In addition the Class 56, 66, and all three HST packs have also been modified to allow the driver to increase or decrease the amount of exhaust smoke (clag) Re-download from your account (62 files for me). You should not need the additional rolling stock files or branding patches.

WIP rework of the Woodhead Electric Railways BR Blue, portraying the route as it stands in it's final year - as far as it's possible.
Numerous track, signaling and scenery modifications - all still WIP and ongoing.
For a summary of mods so far, please see the 'Change Note' listing.

Thank you to Darren Porter, Vulcan Productions, Peter Heppenstall, Thomas Harrison, RolandBP and ex-railwayman for their valuable feedback, assistance and / or encouragement.

This beautiful lok is now available for pre-order at a reduced price of £10.99, release due August. http://digitaltraction.co.uk/m…cts/cr-903-class-cardean/

The Caledonian Railway 903 Class (known as the “Cardeans”) were a class of 4-6-0 steam locomotives designed by John F. McItnsoh for the Caledonian Railway and introduced in 1906 from St. Rollox Works in Glasgow. They quickly became the mascot the CR and was the biggest locomotive in the country at the time. They worked the biggest expresses in the UK at that time and are legendary in their status as one of the most famous 4-6-0s in the history of UK steam. All but one made it into the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (907 being destroyed in Quintinshill Rail Disaster) and they were sadly withdrawn by 1930.

From UKTS it seems that there are many problems with the pack, and AP don't seem to want to know. If you use this pack you end up with only one type of track on all routes, so you lose all the diversity. Also some of the track is too low in the terrain. A bit slap-dash I would say personally, so keep up the good work @Markus Schöbel please. Also note that if you have Conwy Vallley installed, using this pack on the North Wales Coastal route means that you will lose it.

AP needs to keep the money rolling in, like DTG, VR, or any other manufacturer who relies on TS for their income. I suspect it may be his downfall. There are many on Facebook saying they will not buy it because they already have the freeware versions. Whether enough of the others will buy. So it has been done with thought to Ram limits is another thing. AP has already said that it will not update the 444, 455 etc for the new PDL route as he hopes to produce an enhancement pack at twice the price. Once it would have been done without question, I doubt it would have hurt sales of an enhancement pack when it appeared, but the change in attitude probably will.

But many English users complained about my FREEWARE track upgrades because of the not English looking Tracks. And now a Payware developer does the same and all is okay? Very interesting. Really very interesting. :/

Personally I have never seen anybody complaining in public, but I have seen them acknowledging this, which is a different thing. AP's market for this is those that want a simple one click solution, and most of them have no idea what track should look like.

Indeed British tracks do look very different to German ones, but how many owners of TS know this, and when you are travelling at speed it is not so noticeable. Even when you know the difference German tracks look better than the DTG girders. I am also starting to view AP differently, which is sad, because without him, myself and many others would have given up TS. But the world changes, for good or bad. I have had a few issues with a couple of his recent products I am sad to say.

Ultimately he will have a support nightmare if there are compatibility issues, and you can see it starting already on Facebook. I suspect DTG may also find issue with this pack as well, it will be interesting to see.

A lot of buyers of British routes do not have KV or any interest in it, it comes with an idiot proof installer. Bottom line so that many people have never heard of Trainworks who have heard of AP. Of course, people want to do without the much nicer vegetation provided in the Trainworks packs. Richard Armstrong is no longer at college so presumably he is now trying to make a living from TS. I suspect he will find it difficult and his products will inevitably become more expensive.
