I use to drive these locos, so I will be harder to please. AP's sounds are good, but not perfect, especially inside the loc. It will depend which gets a steam release, and which covers the most variations, assuming that the sound is good on both, ie which the freeware scenario producers adopt, it has been sometime since AP released any scenario only packs. The focus now seems to be on higher profit products. I notice Vulcan Productions are also involved in the JT version.

    From UKTS;

    Hi All,

The regressed 1980s BR Blue version of the North Wales Coast Line ( North Wales Coast – BR Blue ), created by Nick Hudson and myself is now available for download from Wotawallysbits ( https://www.wotawallysbits.co.uk/nwc-brblue ).

Nick has regressed all of the track work and infrastructure ( signalling etc. ) and I have regressed the scenery.

As you may have seen, from the route regression update thread, this regressed route started life as a regression of the DTG North Wales Coastal route but quickly became pretty much a full rebuild, nevertheless thanks must go out to the original creator(s) for giving us a base to work from and the impetus to actually get started on a regression of this line, something that Nick and I had been discussing on and off for some time.

The download pack contains a full route manual and description and please do not forget to run the small batch job as per the instructions with the download.
NB. On the host site splash page you will see 2 screenshots, clicking on each will trigger a separate file to download.....you must download and install both files before running the enclosed batch job for the route and all assets to be installed on your PC.

As mentioned in the credits in the manual we have had some patient and thorough QA testers who have helped to identify glitches and bugs that we have missed, and also some scenario writers who have enabled us to provide a number of varied scenarios with the route download.
Nick and I would be grateful for any feedback via this thread, and please do point out any errors or glitches that we may have missed, we will endeavour to fix via a patch where possible.

And finally, we hope that you enjoy driving the route as much as we have enjoyed creating/regressing it.

    Andy

The coaches are really MK2a, Mk2b and Mk2b with a MK2c roof masquerading as MK2C. Apart from some early Mk2c seconds, all other Mk2c's had a small sealed toilet window of the same style as the Mk2d's, there were other differences underneath the two marks of coaches as well. It is similar to the MK2d-f pack where there isn't a correct model of the Mk2d. AP seem to be more willing to make compromises recently. the lack of a MK2a in original Scotrail livery is disappointing for me as well. I will probably still buy it, but for me it is not as good as it could be.

Somewhere to run those beautiful Caledonian Loks and rolling stock.

WHW V1.2 Luib to Strathyre with Killin and Lochearnhead
    A Route for TS2019
    by
    Stewart Parker and Alan Pendlebury
This second release of our WHW (West Highland Wandering) project includes our previously released Luib to Glenoglehead and Killin Branch section of the route and continues the Callander and Oban (C&O) Main Line down through Glen Ogle and via Balquhidder Junction to Strathyre. It also features the Balquhidder to Lochearnhead section of the Lochearnhead, St Fillans and Comrie Railway Line. We are currently working on continuing the latter railway as far as St Fillans and Dalchonzie, work on that section is already well advanced and we hope to release it soon. Further sections of the C&O Main Line and the Crieff Lines are planned for succesive releases in the future.
The route is basically set in the 1950's - 60's BR period but we have exercised a certain amount of artistic licence by including stations and track that had actually been closed before that date, we feel (hope) this increases the operating interest of the route.
The route is currently available on the route Facebook Page

It is also important that the train is facing in the correct direction when changing power supplies, this was also necessary in real life. Do you hear the alarm when you raise the pantograph? if not there is something wrong. Also are you trying to drive in quick drive or a normal scenario. If you are in quick drive and the AC and DC markers are not installed then it will not work.

Chreistrains hasn't made the Plan E in TS, It is either a repaint of the Dutch classics add-on or the freeware coach available in one of the forums. I can't remember which forum unfortunately. You would probably be better to ask on Treinpunt nl.

    V3.0.3

    1. Fixed error where neither Standard or Advanced mode could be selected in the Settings \ Mode menu.
    2. Option to use a single joystick axis as the throttle and train brake added to the advanced mode.
    3. Fixed error of flickering screen reported by some.
    4. Found the cause of the black screen showing over TS2019, see the new "When Things Go Wrong.pdf".
    5. Things to look for when things go wrong
    6. ** Fixed a memory leak that crept in after converting to SharpDX for the overlay.

    * As you can see, these graphics cards have been created using "UKTS_38190_Setting_Up_TS2018_with_a_single_nVidia_card" as well as the black screen goes away. I have done some further testing myself and found it to be the antialiasing FXAA setting that is causing the problem. The TS2019 interface (x86) .exe and the TS2019 interface (x64) .exe and turn off the FXAA are now available as part of the "UKTS_38190_Setting_Up_TS2018_with_a_single_nVidia_card".

As usual, all existing users simply extract the files in the download to current folder overwriting all existing files.

@trainman1 a spirax valve gives a very slow release of the air in the loco system, making a kind of ticking noise. If the loco is only shut down for a brief time it makes a quick restart possible, but if it is left shut down for a long time it safely drains the air from the system.

The London, Midland and Scottish Railway Royal Scot Class is a class of 4-6-0 express passenger locomotive introduced in 1927. Originally having parallel boilers, all members were later rebuilt with tapered type 2A boilers designed by William Stanier.
Between 1943 and 1955 the whole class was rebuilt to create the Rebuilt Royal Scot Class. The rebuilds were quite substantial, requiring new boilers, frames and cylinders, but in most cases the original frame stretchers, wheels, cab and fittings were retained. The usual procedure was that as each locomotive arrived for rebuilding, it was stripped and the identity transferred to a fresh frameset prepared using the parts recovered from the locomotive that had previously been rebuilt. Initially these too were built without smoke deflectors but later acquired them.
In the 1948 Locomotive Exchange Trials, carried out by the recently nationalised British Railways, a rebuilt 'Royal Scot' proved capable of matching the maximum performance of the much larger LMS Coronation Class.
This add-on faithfully recreates the class during their working lives, in a variety of authentic liveries.

Combined Throttle and Train Brake for joystick user.
As of V3.0.2 You now have the option to use a single joystick axis as both the throttle and brake i.e.
the first half will be the train brake and the second half will be the throttle. To enable this function
you simply assign the same lever to the Throttle, ThrottleAndBrake and the TrainBrake, when asked
if you wish to delete the other assignment select No. Also in this mode if you change the direction
of the throttle or train brake the other will be reversed automatically.
