Either i am losing my mind or i have just become better at driving steam trains because i’ve driven close to 200km today without any problems.

3 questions:

1-if i wanted to drive op the Brennerpaß what would be the max tonnage to put behind the lok?

2-I use the automatic fireman right now. Does that take care of the cylinder cocks? If not, when do i need to open and close them?

3-could you make shift2 work. That way you can look back on the train from the lok without having to use the mouse.

AP weather is just a product that is only half functioning.

The only thing i could wish for was a “how to really drive this loco” correctly tutorial. The manual is really good if you already know what to do, but since there are obviously things i do not know, it does not help me to understand the lok.

I can drive it but once i’ve made the first stop that’s it. I know it is me who is a Dampflok newbie but really i just want to enjoy this thing fully.

This a general question about driving. It is probably a stupid question but this is my first and only Dampflok.

Setting the train in motion first time, using the reverser correctly while not going into emergency brake when slowing down. All good. But most of the times when i have come to a complete stop i just can’t get the train going again. So what is the procedure when i have come to a complete stop?

I am using the automatic fireman and the “hot version with normal wheels”.

Comparing real life routes to their ts counterparts is always good fun. Feel free to post the ones you find.

Ahh that is why. I was wondering about the same thing. If by accident i brake too much and the Notbremse sets in, how do i reset the brakes?

I am looking at a great documentary about steam engines and notice that the 01.1xx are three cylinder machines. How many cylinders does a 01.5 have? 4?

When going to full stop at a platform or at a red light there are two ways of doing it.
1: Leaving the afb lever where it is, setting throttle to zero and using the brakes to slow down/stop.
2: leaving the throttle where it is and use the afb lever to slow down/stop.

Which one is the correct one? Or do train drivers do it differently according to taste?

(Note: i am not talking about the dtg 101 but the virtual railroads 101)

To make a product that is knowingly problematic, refuse to correct the errors and not provide a de-installer. That is bad.

LOL+OMG.... Even with automatic fireman on it is difficult to drive a steam engine. I keep forgetting to lock the reverser. Amongst other things. But i will keep at it.

Hi there. Are there any Dampflok tutorials that are particularly good and recommendable?

I know there are probably plenty, but as with anything on the internet, without prior knowledge it’s hard to know the good from the bad.

Actually i have my TS gamecomputer in my studio, so i’m listening on studio grade monitors.

I like the sound of the 01.5. To me it sounds just as i would expect a steam engine to sound.

Regarding the manual: By mistake I was looking in my TS backup instead of the active TS installation. I am sorry for the wrong report of “missing manual”.

Can i suggest a change to simple mode?

Please make it possible to enable pzb in simple mode.

Also a little report of something that may be by design or may be a little bug: Once you’ve used shift m to go into simple mode, you can’t go back without re-starting the scenario.

I’m also finding that the key commands w and s do not work.
