Very nice train, a must-have-addon for diesel-fans like me. But I don't like the Sound. It sounds like one pitched soundfile through all revs, because of the loud treble in it. Perhaps it would be better to extract the base-sound from the file and pitch that, and make a non pitched rattling overlay sound. I dont't know if the very simple sound engine of TS would be able to handle this...

Sound is always difficult to do - getting 'clean' reference sounds is nearly impossible. And you're right, the TS audio engine isn't great for sounds either.
The engine sound for this is two or three different sounds that blend at different speeds and throttle amounts. The turbo whine, the low and high idle - they're all separate sounds that pitch and blend together to make the final. There's also rail noise and other things.
I can keep all the people happy some of the time, and some of the people happy all of the time. But I can't keep all the people happy all of the time :D

Something else : I have included the IVECO engine sounds too but they're not used in the model. Like the BSI coupler, I include it in the folders for people to use for modification later :)
The paint kits are also now on my support site - http://www.christrains.com/hel…wledgebase.php?category=7

I have made the part of the nose around the window with curved polygons that are slightly separated in the paint template. This means it should be easy to do an Agilis-type paint with a 'clean' curve around the front.

The red needle can be either the brake line pressure or the reservoir pressure. It seems to depend on the company/operator. I've seen both but I've seen more where it is reservoir pressure so that is what it is in this model. It drops slowly as the brakes are used and when it hits 8.5, the compressor comes on and tops the reservoir up. :)

Lets put it this way - at this point it's not changing before release :D

So apparently some (beta-testers) are already boasting about how they drive their RS1 on the Wutachtalbahn... so unfair!

I hoped both products could be released at the same time, without the RS1 I'm probably going to hold myself back and not get Wutach at this time...

That's OK. The beta test ends today so the products will become inactive at midnight. Then they have to wait like everyone else :)

What I normally do is get everything ready then put a 1 week countdown on my website. That gives me time to 'breathe' before sales start.
So when the product page goes up on my website, then you will see the release date and price, same as what I did with the Flirt 3 :)

The closest I could get is semi manual. This means you have to open the doors with "T" as normal and then you MUST wait for the minimum platform time. After that you could manually close the doors whenever you want. BUT this is one of those items that too many players would find confusing - I guarantee I would get hundreds of emails asking why they could not delay the opening or close the doors any time. So I choose not to do this for the sake of my own sanity :)

I always issue updates to the trains so this isn't a problem. The beta testers normally catch all the really big stuff, and a lot of small details that most players might never notice.
If something needs to be changed after release, I make v1.1., then v1.2 etc :)

One question to Chris - are you planning to implement a "centering" key in RS1 just like you did in Flirt 3? I am talking about the E key that puts the combined controller directly to the middle position.

That's actually quite handy in the Flirt 3 unit.

    Thank you!

    Yes - that's in the RS1.

    Ok, thanks!

Just out of curiosity - how do you know that? You're a tester or...?

The beta testers are already working on the test. :)

@ChrisTrains Would a function like this also be possible for the lower destinationboard? So you can choose between the large and the small one.

The 'Seebergbahn' versions have the lower destination board. The problem is that the board is part of the main geometry of the train so there is quite a big difference between the high light / high board and low light / low board :)

For the modification people and painters, I'm including a BSI coupler for this train too. It does not appear on any of the trains in the pack but it is in the 'coupler' folder. So you can edit the BIN file for the train when doing a repaint and make it use the BSI coupler instead of the Scharfenberg coupler if you want to :)

I will put this in the handbook too.

And finally, all three for the ChrisTrains RS1 Pack together for the first time.
I know everyone wants a release date but there is still testing to do, documentation, installers, products in the webshop etc.
This will NOT be coming out before my vacation (August 22). The reason ? I made that mistake once in the early days. I need to be here 24/7 for the first weekend after release to answer questions.
I will keep posting status updates here so you can all be informed what is going on. When I DO have a release date, it will also be posted here and on my FB page :)
