Jt have don't have their own model of the HST, or 47 etc. This is why their routes require the ELAP. They only install re-skins with the route, depending on how they install they may have the Valenta sounds, I will take a look when I get home. For MTU sounds you will have to swap the power cars in RWtools,

The Kuju model has the original HST body and ventilator Grilles, the other HST's from routes referenced the MTU pack have some of the later body and vent grilles, hence the different references between the two.

@Morphi As mentioned above there is the North London route, which is slow but quite varied, there is also a backdated route that is done very well, but possibly an era that doesn't interest you. Wherry lines is great and the class 37 sounds are very good, in some ways it is a little limited, but brilliant. Trent Valley is nicely done, but for me it is quite limited in that you can only really go from a to b. There is also GEML which has Inter-City, commuter and freight. This is best bought as a twin pack with the AP class 90 http://store.steampowered.com/sub/33561/. South London Network is also another commuter route with a lot of different routes http://store.steampowered.com/app/222638/. London-Brighton, although older is still a good route as well, primarily passenger, but with some freight http://store.steampowered.com/app/208280/. Chatham mainline as mentioned is another southern passenger route http://store.steampowered.com/app/376946/. There is also Edinburgh - Glasgow from Thomson, like many of their routes it is a little limited but still ok. Mainly Diesel Passenger. Best bought as a twin pack with the 08 as this adds a part of the route, although I see it no longer tells you this in the description. http://store.steampowered.com/app/222578/. The Riviera line is also a nice little passenger line http://store.steampowered.com/app/222632/ slow and fast trains. London to Faversham is a high speed commuter line, older but still good and AP are working on an enhancement pack for the Javelin, however it is also limited in some ways. There is a bundle that will give you the expansion pack and some additional EMU's that can be used on other routes http://store.steampowered.com/app/222557/?snr=1_5_9__300 . West coast mainline and WCML over shap are also good, but come with older trains, you would need to buy modern trains to run over these routes, they are however excellent although the first is a little dated now, but it will give you the HST buffers pack if you need it. http://store.steampowered.com/app/24083/ & http://store.steampowered.com/app/222613/ Midland mainline is also ok, if a little short http://store.steampowered.com/app/277760/ . Portsmouth direct is ok if you get the patch from DP Simulations http://store.steampowered.com/app/65218/ . I think that is enough for now, of course you can also drive on older routes with moder. stock as well. Even if you only use workshop scenarios you will need to buty other add-ons, and if you go outside the workshop then you will probably need need AP/Waggonz add-ons 313/32/456. If you value your ears then you will also need AP sound/enhancement packs. For re-skins/ some free scenario packs you should become familiar with DP simulations http://www.dpsimulation.org.uk/ and you should think about a subscription to UKTS even if only for a month at a time. It is well worth the money. the best strategy is to wait for steam sales and AP sales and buy strategically, maybe sound packs for add-ons you don't have but will buy because they are on sale, or a train you don't need yet but will later, I'm sure you know how it goes. JT also do some nice add-ons, but I find that their routes are not always so wonderful. Western main lines is ok, but you need a good computer and a few other add-ons https://www.justtrains.net/product/western-mainlines . Their Edinburgh-Newcastle route is ok, but not what is should be. Hopefully this is enough to get you going.

Edit: I forgot to say, I have no problems with crashes on the Bristol Swansea route. The route is ok, but not as interesting as it would have been in 1970-1980.

With these new enhancement packs, from what I have read, you would need to change the bin files for the repaints to work with them. A lot of changes were made to add advanced scripting, which was not part of the old sound packs. For workshop scenarios, if they use a default class 43 which has the sounds applied they will work. But you will not see a workshop scenario that says you must have this new pack because it is not sold through steam and workshop has no way of checking it is on your PC. It is possible that a scenario can be uploaded needing third party files, but I think this would not be welcome for the majority of DTG customers who care little about sounds.
@Tyrell you do not have to own both packs, but the reason for two packs and soon a third is that when built all class 43's were built with Valentas, later in life the Valentas were replaced by either VP185's or MTU Diesels. AP have had to pay a lot of money to be able to record these trains, I believe we are talking 1000's for each one so he needs to split it into 3 packs, partly because of this, but also not everybody wants all three sounds. For me the Valenta is essential because they had these diesels when I drove the class 43. The MTU is nice to have, but for me, it has no balls as we say and is a bit boring. The Valenta on the other hand screams it's head off and is more interesting, the VP185 will be somewhere in the middle. Whether any particular one is essential to you is a matter of personal taste, and depends how real you like your scenarios to be. As we say, you pays your money and makes your choice.
I am also sure that AP will do what he did in the past and update his scenario packs to use this enhancement pack where this is appropriate.

The scenery decals placed between Milford Haven and Whitland have been removed and replaced by contemporary scenery.

Track and signaling has been laid to Bridgend from Pyle. Basic landscape scenery added with an awful lot of freestyle imagination!

Track and signaling has been laid to Fishguard. Although some scenery has been added this section is very much 'work in progress' and will be updated in the coming months.

Some technical issues (mainly signaling) have been resolved and in some cases improved along the route.

Where required additional scenery assets have been included and are supplied. Important these are installed by the user before the route is started.

For repaints it is necessary for the re-painter to update his re-skin, or else the use of RWtools to do it. All of the default liveries in the Kuju folder should have the sounds applied, the same as the original pack

If the class 43 concerned comes from the ELAP (old KUJU folder) then it will have the new sounds applied, unless it is in an inappropriate livery. Some sets retained the old style headlight even after being given a new engine. This one should have the new sounds applied.

The sounds will also be applied to all appropriate liveries of HST in the DTG ELAP, so any scenarios with an HST from this pack will also have the sounds applied. There will be no scenarios on the workshop specifically for these sounds as AP don't sell this pack through steam, but the liveries supplied in the pack will give you a guide as to what sets are likely to have these sounds added.

A the moment RWinfo works fine for me under windows 10, I rolled back my Nvidia drivers months ago to 375.70 because the then latest drivers were giving me big problems in TS.

Also differences in the roof details and roof-line grilles. Some also have a split window in the cab doors. But there are limits with what can be achieved with such an old model. Luggage door windows are now one piece rather than the original two piece and if IIRC have modified door handles, some had this before being re-engined. There are also numerous small modifications that are not so obvious. Like any class with a long life there are now many small and not so small differences, and this has been so since their early days. I think Masterkey will have a lot of fun with these differences as they create their own model.

The large front numbers can be turned on/off via the number. Also, a separate variant is available with small numbers towards the rear of the power car, as carried in the early days of this livery.

@Schwarzwaldbahner of course it was an odd decision, it was made by politicians who don't look past the next election and civil servants who never take responsibility for such decisions. The 442's were off lease at the time and still had a long life. They are great for the express runs they are designed for, far better than the new trains as they use the same body as the Mk3 coaches, but they were never designed for rapid loading unloading of passengers with a lot of luggage.
