    Dutch Classics 10 - Equipment 1946 ELD2

With this add on we go a bit further back in time. Materiel 1946 was the first new type of streamline equipment of the Dutch Railways after the Second World War. With the beautiful streamlined round nose it had a characteristic and very recognizable appearance. The material was a continuation of earlier material series from 1936 and 1940 and drove around the Netherlands in the eighties of the last century. In this add on you will find the two car trains of this type.

The trainsets have been designed in every version in which they have been in active service of the Dutch Railways between 1946 and roughly 1983. The olive-green classic version, the green version in all kinds of variants and of course the modernized yellow version can also be found in Dutch Classics 10.

The equipment is also designed in high detail in this add on, as you are used to from Dutch Classics. The interior is rendered based on photo textures and with realistic light and shadow effects. You will not only find realism when you view the trains from a distance or from a bird's-eye view, but also when you view them in high resolution or in a multi-monitor setup for Train Simulator. A large part of the details that you find in the real equipment can also be found in the virtual version of the Plan E coaches. The limit was determined by the technical capacity of DTG Train Simulator - playability and available memory with respect to detail. For the design of these trainsets are first hand experiences (photo ' s and video recordings of a real Materiel 1946 train set) and various sources in book form and on the internet consulted. This allows the best possible display of the real trainset in Train Simulator.

The trainsets have features as you are used to from Dutch Classics equipment:

Exterior accurately designed on the basis of matt lining and design real trains, with many details
Realistically reconstructed cabin with functional control panel and many animations, both of operation and of windows, doors and automatic and manual wipers
Switchable from simple mode to expert mode for more realism as a virtual operator
Full passenger view in both carriages of the trainsets, for both the classic and the modernized version
Technical operation train sets implemented with jacobs bogies
Levels of Detail are used in the 3d models, so that detail can be seen where necessary and easier to display where it is allowed.
With preservation of detail optimized in memory use as much as possible
    Dynamic numbering available
More than 60 train compositions are included. These are assembled in different combinations of the Mat'46 trains and in combinations in combination with Material 1954 from Dutch Classics 6 and 8 (Dutch Classics 6 and / or 8 are required for these assemblies).
In train compositions fully interchangeable and can be combined with Material 1954 and Material 1957 trains, just like in the large example
In addition to the train compositions, a number of scenarios are included for:
    TestTrak route
    HCC dipendam route
Please note: if you do not own the above routes, the scenarios are not available in your version of Train Simulator. You can of course always use the trainsets in Quickdrive in a route of your choice and in your own scenarios.

The European Loco and Asset pack (available via Steam) is required for playing the scenarios. The HCC add on Berkendam is required for the scenarios for the HCC Berkendam route.

We have updated the scenarios in the following packs to utilise our recently released Class 168/170/171 Enhancement Pack:

Here in the UK Maerklin is rare, DC has been king for many decades Roco, Trix, Piko, Brawa, Fleischmann, Acme, LS models etc are all more well known and all feature in my collection, together with some lesser known like Artitec and Elotrains . Most shops here offer a discount, with some around 25 -33%. In 2016 I could buy a Roco V100 with sound for £115, now it's £125. The BR18 with sound cost me £320 instead of £400, it was the most expensive purchase of the year, the BR360 with sound was £70 below the makers price. At the moment one of the discount shops here is selling some Rivarossi models at 45-50% reduction. I rarely pay full price for my models. I also have to agree that Piko have improved their quality, the BR152 is a nice model and the sounds are well done.

Model trains have become more expensive but I buy my models from a discount store, because I have been a good customer, I get very good prices, even on Trix and Fleischmann. Importantly I also get good customer service, when there was a problem with the BR360 being damaged in the post it was replaced very quickly. Over the last months I have added some old-timers to my bahnpark, including the British Steamer from a sale at another discount shop, £69 instead of £150. I was very happy with this.
