There was also a containership in Passau Linz. Aber nicht aus Führerstand sichtbar. So i didn’t delete it. If i see one from the Führerstand, i will.

Adding to my previous post. And what would we be left with? TSW payware, and hundred TS freeware projects, where maybe 5% gets finished. (Not a disrespect to freeware developers, i think it is beyond fantastic that anyone sees a route to completion, it’s hard and tedious work).
Let’s see. What routebuilders that build German content are left? DTG, VirtualTracks and RSSLO. And ofcourse Vt builds wonderful stuff, but with two years between every release, that will not be enough to keep payware TS alive. Jan is also not building for a living and his preference for the time being is the Berlin sbahn net, of which he ofcourse makes a wonderful job. DTG release one german route a year (or maybe it’s closer to 1,5?). So without RSSLO we get about 1 main German route a year. Not enough to keep the simulator we all love alive.
Ok i know i put German/Austrian routes into the same basket, and perhaps it’s just because my interest is both countries. We can add Swiss routes. B42rail are the only ones left, and they do take their time too. So they do not count for a lot of content. Rivet Games are sadly gone from TS. But i seem to recall that the Gotthardbahn was 35€ too. And i do not think it was particularly prettier than RSSLO routes. RSSLO vegetation has at least become more varied. And their tracks are (imo) worse than RSSLO tracks.

Going to play the devils advocate here.
Everything gets more expensive. Software developers have to pay higher prices to live too. That a routebuilder should be locked to the same price as 5 years ago is a strange thought.
As to the Rübeland comparison. As Maik Goltz has stated. Even when building a high quality short route, the amount of work that goes into it, does not bring in enough to make a living. So to expect that 120km of route be cheaper and just as beautiful is an impossible expectation. And either we support the developers, or payware TS dies. It’s as simple as that. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If there was good money in routebuilding long routes like Münster Bremen, then routes like that would still be made. But even when a high quality route is released, someone will argue over the price.
In two weeks, someone will have switched the tracks and vegetation and then everything is honky dory?

RSSLO signalisation is still far better than DTGs own.

V200.1 I don’t think so. I see no parameter for routes that a KI consist is enabled for.
So for now i think you still need ts_tools for that.
oldsnake I think i have a little bug report. After the installation of RWEnhancer 2 i can’t turn off Procedural Flora in TS. I thi k RWe2 overwrites the setting. If that is the case, then an option to turn it off in RWe2 would be nice.
Same thing with adaptive Bloom.
-
If you are having performance issues try this: I found out that making an exception in windows antivurus for RWEnhancer2.exe AND the folder that the program is in, makes quite a difference for performance.

DonMattheo That is a matter of preference. I am not asking for the functions you prefer to be removed. I am asking for a feature (along with the choice to costumise the hud/tasklist to anyones personal liking) to be added.
For me personally, i’d prefer not to have the rolling trackinspector at all, but to have it integrated in the tasklist. That is closer to how reality works. And i don’t want to be shown the aspect of the next signal either. That is not how German railways work. Nor do i want to see if the next speed allowance is more or less. Ebulas do not show that either. They show what the allowed speed is in the next section. Not if it’s more or less.
So i request that i can choose not to have that displayed. Not to have it removed!
And with a choice, you can have it your way, and i can have it mine. So don’t even see how arguing that my suggestion should not be taken into consideration will benefit anyone, to be honest.
After all, a program that offers costumisation, should give just that. Choices

oldsnake i think this days update fixed the “simulation paused” thing

-
nicolas83 oldsnake This was basically what i was suggesting too. If displayed on the same list as tasks, it would be a very basic ebula.
Edit. An option to have set how many tasks should appear in the tasklist would be awesome. Meaning if i wanted the 10 next tasks shown, i could set the value to 10.
-
oldsnake Yes even with 1000ms setting.
And don’t worry. The program is still in it’s early phase, so we have patience
Right now i guess we are all on a journey towards a 1.0 version together. -
I am getting the “simulation has paused” window very frequent. Even though TS is running and clearly not frozen. i did experiment with the timeout value but that didn’t seem to make any difference.
-
@Pingu Mistly that happens because of a TS bug, and not because of an error in the route.
-
oldsnake Just to be clear. I wasn’t talking about a bonafide real EBULA system. Only something that was a bit like an EBULA. I realise that the real deal would be extremely difficult to build.
-
First, it’s already a fantastic software, and your willingness to look at costumer suggestions is outstanding. Big thumbs up.
Here is a yet suggestion to the track monitor, sort of. The option to have events appearing in the tasklist. Meaning that speed restrictions etc could be listed in the same window as the passenger stops. With the distance to the speedrestriction constantly updating, just like the distance to the stops. That way the task list will be very close to what a real EBULA is in Germany. I think a lot of German players would appreciate this form of “autogenerated TS EBULA”.

oldsnake Jist bought it. Worth it alone for the HUD

Is it possible to make the track monitor scalable AND vertical? That way it would better reflect the way the german ebula system.
I just noticed that in the track monitor you can see if the next main signal is red. (Driving the Dresden Riesa route. I’d VERY much like to be able to turn that feature off. In real life German railways, there is no in cab way to tell the status for the main signals (unless you are driving under ETCS). And, for me, it does take the fun out of driving that you don’t have to look at the signals.

I am thinking that since it’s been a long time we heard anything on the vR project, maybe their v100 is a closed down project.
-
One little critique. A shame that the QD have no wagons on the sidings. The route would seem more alive with a little bit of wagons lightly sprinkled throughout.
-
It’s a really beautiful route. I visited the area a couple of years after the reunification, and it is just like i remember the Ostharz. I am more into main Hauptstrecken and not so much Nebenbahnen, but in no way do i regret my purchase. It is perfect for a little relaxing on a winters day, dreaming of beautiful Germany in the summertime.

What is the difference between the membership, and a regular purchase?
Only the speech part?

Schuster Yay. Way to go

Schuster Kal000px Just to make it clear, i didn’t say there were additional scripts on non-Rivet Games swiss routes. I meant to say that it is not the same trigger messages, that sets off the ZUB. And since Rivet Games has stopped developing new Swiss routes for TS, while the builders of Zürich-Olten ( B42) are still developing routes, compatibility with both sets of triggers are important.
According to Rivet Games, development for normal gauge Swiss routes for ts is not happening, so for future compability, ZUB triggers from B42 routes are a selling point for this loco.
