    Just a question - what happens if the RWE 2 play session does not finish properly, eg due to a crash or power outage?

    I think I understand. Ludmilla-Fan All rolling stock sounds remain the same: nothing is changed. RWE2 only adds a number of additional sounds on top, which are often not adequately represented in TS.


    A key example is wind noise that in TS is usually completely absent. RWE2 makes for an incredible difference when driving at 200 km/h or 300 km/h.


    Importantly, for each additional sound layer, you have the option to reduce its volume, or to mute it completely. For example, and surely of interest to you as Ludmila fan, there is a "diesel engine layer" option that is great for stock with poor sounds, but that usually is not appropriate for stock that have high-quality sounds already. In such cases, you simply switch the diesel engine layer overlay off in-game.

    The content explorer could show all routes but the drive menu could only show routes that contains some scenarios for example

    I agree that that is an option. But the route interface in the content explorer, whilst being completely adequate for its purposes, is not as nice as the - simply outstanding - interface in the drive section.


    For me the route interface in the drive section serves a broader purpose than simply selecting a route or scenario to drive. It also shows off my collection. And it does so in a way that has never been done before - with large pictures that. in many cases, have appropriately been chosen (although there is room for improvement here in some cases).


    That "collection overview" feeling is bound to apply to other users too. And it would be lost if routes without scenarios are no longer shown.

    I have installed some routes that I need for route upgrades. For these routes, for example Altenburg - Wildau or Berlin - Wittenberg (KBS250),

    I agree that this is a good idea. But Jogibär, you never need the actual routes for route upgrades, just the associated assets. It is thus perfectly safe to delete these routes (eg in RW Tools or directly from the Content folder). This saves some disk space and will cause a slight speed gain when starting up TS.


    EDIT on reflection I am not so sure that this is a good idea. As RWTools does, I think there is a case to be made for RWEnhancer to show all installed routes, regardless of whether any scenarios are available. TS does not display these routes, in part because it has a horrible interface that quickly becomes messy if too many routes are shown. But with the nice interface of RWTools. and the capability to select routes by country, I think there is a case for all routes to be shown in RWE2, if only to remind the users of their existence! Routes that are only used for upgrades of other routes are redundant and are better deleted by the user.

    I think this is a good point. This is caused by the RWE2 HUD being centered. The TS HUD is also centered but has additional elements to the left of the track monitor. The track monitor elements of the two HUDs are not therefore at the same position.


    Opinions are likely to differ on this one - I guess most people would prefer the RWE2 HUD to be centered as currently is the case, but some people may (sometimes) prefer to have it at exactly the same position as the corresponding element of the TS HUD (eg when shunting, when the TS HUD continues to be useful). Perhaps this could be made an optional choice?

    One small comment - this morning I was driving in the Railstudio Class 43 and the notch name (which in the case of this engine can range from 1 to 40) was duly shown. Following the update it no longer is there, even if the corresponding option in the menu is selected.

    Just another feature request: it is great that the HUD can be hidden when in external views. Perhaps add an option (either separate or combined) also to have it hidden from the passenger view mode? The TS F3 HUD was always there so it was natural also to be there in passenger view. But with the modular, more flexible nature of the RW Enhancer HUD, having it also in the passenger view suddenly becomes more of a distraction.


    EDIT - this should also be the case in the route overview screen ('9' button), where the F3 HUD is not visible to begin with.

    Vielen Dank für die Weihnachtsaufgabe! Leider ist sie aber, meiner Meinung nach, fehlerhaft. In Lichterfelde Süd gibt es eine schöne Uberrasschung, dann aber sofort auch om 17:39 den Abfahrtbefehl! (Fahrplan: 17:45). Wenn man dann, gemàß Befehl, abfährt gibt es am Südkreuz eine Wartezeit von 7 Minuten. Vielleicht nicht so beabsichtigt?

    Just did a run with a BR155 on Project Freiberg and have the following two observations in this regard:

    • When taking an action which triggers a TS notification message in the top-right corner (eg enabling SIFA or PZB), the entire RW Enhancer overlay disappears (only pause notifications occur). I can only get the RW Enhancer overlay back by switching to another view (e.g. external view or passenger view). Further examination suggests that this is only an issue when the option to have the HUD disappear in external view is selected
    • Further on the pause notifications: Project Freiberg is a route prone to stuttering. At every stutter lasting more than 1 second, the RW Enhancer pause notification appears, rendering the stutters even more annoying. Happened at least 10 times during a one-hour trip, and stuttering is of course a problem in TS more generally. Not sure what the best way is to address this. One is perhaps to dramatically increase the maximum value of the RW Enhancer pause threhold, to perhaps 5000 ms, with a comment that the recommended setting is between 500 and 1000 ms and that higher settings should only be used on routes that are prone to stuttering. Not sure though whether a higher threshold will cause synchronisation issues. Another is perhaps to render the RW Enhancer pause notifications optional, i.e provide a setting to turn these off? To me personally these do not add a great deal.

    One small bug - the speedometer seems to show "11" as "1" . So it counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. 10, 1, 12, 13 etc. This applies both when accelerating and decelerating, at least in the mph version.




    Many thanks for the new version! Great to see suggestions implemented so quickly.


    Some more suggestions / observations:


    • It would be great if the programme could memorise the last position of the HUD elements - currently I have to drag them to my desired positions every time
    • Good to see the option to reduce the size of the speedometer but even at 0.75 I find it on the large side. I'd suggest lowering the lowest threshold to 0.5
    • One observation that you may not be able to do anything about: if you select the passenger view on trains that do not in fact have a passenger view, you stay in the cabin but do hear the passenger view sounds.


    And one somewhat more important question - has the new skylighting effect been properly tested at dawn/dusk? I just did a test drive which did have a clear imbalance between light conditions in the sky and on the ground (see screenshot below). This is scenario 3b from the TrainTeamBerlin scenario pack no 3 on Mighty Seddin Freight, in summer, at around 21:50.

    I have now also understood that there are separate sounds when a task has completed and, more annoyingly, when a task has failed (eg stop missed). Surely nice for some but for me these sounds are too much arcade-game like, which TS2022 is not. It would be great if there was also an option in the settings to turn these sounds on or off.


    EDIT - am I correct in believing that these are all "notification sounds"? If so, there is already an option to set these to zero.

    I have now also purchased the package and think that this is very promising indeed. Some initial comments:


    • I understand the reason for the RW Enhancer HUD Top Bar, but the black bar at the top of the screen quickly becomes annoying. For the track monitor, the RW Enhancer 2 settings helpfully include the possibility to scale the opacity all the way to zero, rendering the track bar fully transparent. It would be hugely appreciated if a similar, seperate option was added for the HUD Top Bar. With opacity at zero, the top bar would become invisible whilst still remaining functional.
    • Tastes will differ but I find the speedometer far too large & prominent. It is great that it can be moved around - perhaps an option can be added also to make it smaller (or larger)?
    • I first tried a German route and RW Enhancer 2 used speeds in miles per hour. This is not desirable. In TS, I get miles per hour for English routes and kilometers per hour for German, French etc. routes. RW Enhancer should follow this, or provide appropriate options under settings. (Is this tied to the language option by any chance? My TS is set to English but I live in the Netherlands - so linking this option to language would not be appropriate.)
    • There is currently a need to "cook" every time I open RW Enhancer 2. I understand of course the need for cooking upon first launch, but it becomes annoying if the cooking process has to be initiated every time the app is launched (even if subsequent cooks are very fast). If a quick "update" cooking process is needed on every subsequent launch, shouldn't this happen automatically, rather than the user having to initiate this process every single time?
    • Not sure I like the various "ting" sounds when passenger boarding starts and has completed. I disabled "train departure whistle" in the ambient settings but that does not remove the ting - what setting does this fall under?
    • I'm slightly confused by the "train simulator" screen in the settings menu. This appears to offer the possibility to tweak many TS settings (though not, understandably. whilst the game is running). Some people may find this useful, but why are settings such as "scenery quality" and "scenery density" excluded? And there are some settings that are not included in TS itself - what does "software mixing" under audio mean?
    • RW Enhancer 2 frequently believes the game is paused whilst this is not in fact the case. The default 500 ms threshold is probably too low - but it is a good thing that it can be changed.
    • In RW Enhancer Pro, a possibility existed to import shader presets. I did not immediately find this option in RW Enhancer 2. Alternatively, RW Enhancer Pro could incorporate a choice between some useful presets in the settings. Not all users are inclined to tweak and experiment with every individual setting - I certainly am not. I did for example like the "slighty desaturated" preset that could be downloaded from the RWCentral website.
    • In RW Enhancer Pro, an option also existed to disable the enhanced shaders and to revert to default TS shaders. I did not find this possibillity, which seems essential to me, in RW Enhancer 2. There is a button "restore default settings" but this appears to reset the RW Enhancer settings to default, not to completely discard the RW Enhancer enhancements. As a matter of principle, I think it should be possible to use RW Enhancer 2 without using the enhanced shaders at all. Currently, one seems forced to use the enhanced shaders. That will mostly be ok, but inevitably some routes (eg very old ones) will exist where the default TS settings are preferable.


    It is already clear though that this app can strongly be recommended to anyone - the train & ambient sounds alone make the 20 euros a more than worthwhile investment!

    Wenn man einen Fahr-Fehler gemacht hat,z.B. an ein Signalbild nicht bestätigt hat,oder ein scharfer Magnet einen zum Zwangsenhalt führt,kann das Zugfahrzeug in meinem Falle meistens die 060 nach dem Halt nicht mehr in Gange gesetzt werden und weiterfahren,sprich der Leistungshebel hat keine Wirkung mehr.Wie kann man das wieder lösen und das Szenario weiterfahren???

    Bei der 060 - Bremse voll anziehen, dann kann man (meistens) lösen.
