The German V 200.1 is a further developement of the well-known V 200.0 diesel locomotive. From 1962, the V 200.0 was followed by the more powerful DB Class V 200.1, later Class 221.
The Greek OSE bought twenty V 200.1s which were delivered in 1989. All twenty of these V 200.1s have since been re-imported from Greece to Germany by the Prignitzer Eisenbahn (PEG), some of which have been restored to operational condition and sold on to other operators or kept by PEG who numbered them as Class 270.
One of the re-imported locomotives is the former V 200 147. This engine has got an overhaul at the Arriva Works in Neustrelitz and has been sold to the railway company Bentheimer Eisenbahn in july 2008. Here the locomotive started its service under the name D 20 „Coevorden“.
