The German V 200.1 is a further developement of the well-known V 200.0 diesel locomotive. From 1962, the V 200.0 was followed by the more powerful DB Class V 200.1, later Class 221.
The Greek OSE bought twenty V 200.1s which were delivered in 1989. All twenty of these V 200.1s have since been re-imported from Greece to Germany by the Prignitzer Eisenbahn (PEG), some of which have been restored to operational condition and sold on to other operators or kept by PEG who numbered them as Class 270.
Since january 2008 V 200 135 is on duty for the railway company Bocholter Eisenbahn Gesellschaft. Before the engine change to the new owner at 04/01/2008, it has got a big refurbishment at Arriva Works in Neustrelitz.
