The German V 200.1 is a further developement of the well-known V 200.0 diesel locomotive. From 1962, the V 200.0 was followed by the more powerful DB Class V 200.1, later Class 221.
The Greek OSE bought twenty V 200.1s which were delivered in 1989. All twenty of these V 200.1s have since been re-imported from Greece to Germany by the Prignitzer Eisenbahn (PEG), some of which have been restored to operational condition and sold on to other operators or kept by PEG who numbered them as Class 270.
Since 2004 221 136-5 was on duty for ImoTrans GmbH. On the 1st september 2006 the railway company Eisenbahngesellschaft Potsdam mbH (EGP) has absorbed ImoTrans and all its services. Later the locomotive gets the EGP logo on the front and another logo at the engine side.
